Third Person POV
"Jisoo, I think you should stop sulking and just talk to him!" Lisa said, though it sounded more like a demand. For the past few days, the girls had been trying to console her.
It had been a long time since they'd seen Jisoo like this: moping and crying over a boy. The last time she was this broken was with Hyunbin, her ex. Even then, she only cried for a day before moving on. But now, it had been days since the fight she had with Taehyung during the Running Man filming, and Jisoo still refused to snap out of it.
She didn't bother explaining what happened, but Irene and Rosé filled the others in with what little they knew. It was clear something had gone very wrong between the two lovebirds.
"Jisoo, come on. You're miserable because you're choosing to ignore him. He's been trying to reach out to you endlessly," Jennie added, trying her turn at convincing her.
Jisoo continued to ignore them, but for a split second, Jennie's voice triggered something in her mind.
Suddenly, Jisoo's upper body shot upright, startling the three girls lying in bed with her. The movement resembled something straight out of an exorcism movie; slow, stiff, and emotionless.
She sat upright without a word, staring at nothing. The others exchanged confused glances.
"Uhmm... Jisoo?" Rosé nudged her.
"I need to talk to you guys about Yoongi! No, wait! I need to talk to Irene unnie!" Jisoo blurted, confusing everyone even more.
"What about Yoongi?" Jennie asked as all three girls leaned in.
"He—" Jisoo stopped when the bedroom door opened and Irene stepped inside, looking hesitant.
"Jisoo... Taehyung's here," Irene said, wearing that face, the unapologetic one Jisoo knew too well.
Irene knew Jisoo had been ignoring him, but she also knew those two needed to talk. So when the gate buzzer rang, she didn't hesitate to let him in.
"Well... that's our cue to leave," Lisa said, breaking the awkward silence.
"No, please don't leave me!" Jisoo whined childishly, but none of them listened. They slipped out one by one, abandoning her.
Three seconds after the door clicked shut, Jisoo heard footsteps approaching. Her eyes squeezed shut as tears began to build even before she saw him.
"Jisoo..." That sweet, honey-like voice, one she hated to admit she'd missed.
"Jisoo," Taehyung repeated softly as he sat beside her. His warm hand cupped her cheek, wiping away a lone tear. He gently guided her face toward his.
"Please look at me, Jisoo." His voice carried desperation and sincerity.
Finally, she opened her eyes, meeting his dark brown, chocolate gaze.
"I'm sorry, Jisoo. I truly am," he began.
"I've been thinking these past few days about everything that happened, and what you told me. You were right."
His hands now held hers, thumbs lightly brushing her knuckles.
"I'm sorry my first reaction wasn't to ask how you were. Instead, I jumped to an assumption that wasn't true. That was wrong of me."
Jisoo remained silent, listening.
"You're my girlfriend. You're the person I love. You should've been my priority. I guess with Sana... she's my past. I reacted out of habit."
Sana again, Jisoo thought.
Her heart dropped. Did he just say he loved me?
She hated this feeling, this insecurity that made her doubt even when she wanted so badly to believe she was enough.
