Renjo walked towards the bridge. He heard yelling and something break echo through the halls of the ship. 'What is going on?' he thought.
The lights began to flicker as he reached the bridge doors. Renjo walked in.
"Who do you think you are?! You can't do this to us! It removes our rights as people!" Fiennes roared.
"Hey, what's happe-" Renjo began until a voice interrupted him.
"Ahh, the man I wanted to see, Renjo Ferron." A dark, grumbly, and staticy voice spoke over the comms. It was obviously changed to hide the real voice. "It's a true shame you can't see my face, with your window all broken and such. Speaking of, how was it, floating around feeling the hand of nothingness?"
"It was interesting in fact. Who are you, and how do you know me?" Renjo replied.
"Well Ferron, I have heard my share of war stories. Did some research and as it turns out, I finally found you. My name is Lan-ka, Captain of The Monstrosity. I belong to neutral space as well as you do, but we made a deal with the Allied faction to find you and help fight the Federation. What do you say?"
Renjo pondered on that. "I'll join you, under one condition: Protect me and my cr- *ahem* friends".
"It's a done deal. Ill have my crew assist you in your protection. Now, I have delivered my message to you. Goodbye and may we speak agian". The comms shut down to which the computer responded, 'Connection terminated'.
Fiennes looked at me with concern. "You sure about this?"
"I've made my decision". Renjo sternly replied. "We should continue our course to Romero. Daryn, do we have power to jump?"
"Uhh, y-yes. We have power. Prepare for jump procedures!" Daryn commanded. "Green!"
"Console Set!" Green responded.
"Darren!"
"Drives set!" Darren replied.
"Hull is locked and set! Fiennes, at your command".
Fiennes nodded, "Grânn, you gonna be okay?"
Grânn locked himself in a chair and said,"Yes, I'll be fine."
Fiennes looked to me. "Renjo?" She said softly, looking at him.
"Yeah, I'll stand here, holding the banister. Iron grip, heh heh." he smiled a little.
Fiennes inhaled. "Okay, we're all set. Dayrn, launch when ready." She said as she sat in the captain's chair.
"Alright. Launch!" Dayrn yelled as he flipped the frame shift drive switch.
'Charging FSD. 3.....2.....1......Engage.' The computer responded.
The sound of space disruption and engines filled the cabin of the ship.
'Reaching 5% light speed. 10%. 30%. Maximum speed obtained'
"Approching system Ingus 4 in 10 seconds. Slowing down and dropping out of hyperspace. Continuing voyage in frameshift." Dayrn said. "Romero Orbital ETA is 10 minutes. The controls are now yours Captain."
"Thank you Dayrn. Everyone, stand down. Green, do a scan." Fiennes commanded.
"Yes Captain." Green pressed a button. 10 seconds after, he got a result. "Scan complete. No other ships in sight."
"Thank you." Fiennes turned around and looked at Renjo. "Renjo, you al- Oh my god what did you do to the damn banister?!"
He was too focused on holding on to the banister that he ended up crushing it when the ship entered light speed.
"Renjo!" Fiennes yelled.
He looked at her confused, and she gestured him to look down. "Huh?" he looked down. "Oh god. I'm sorry, I got tunnel vision."
She rolled her eyes and turned around. "How much time do we have left?" She asked, a little too menacingly.
"ETA is four minutes. Fiennes, I suggest you relax." Dayrn stated. "You seem tense."
Fiennes sighed, hung her head down and sat in the Captain's Chair. "You're right. Renjo, can you take over for now?"
He nodded.
"Thanks. Grânn, do you mind grabbing me some ibuprofen? I just got this massive headache."
Grânn nodded in response and walked out of the bridge, towards the medical station.
After Graânn had returned to the bridge with the medicine, the rest of the ride to the station was quiet and uneventful, until we arrived.
"Approaching destination Captain. Confirm hyperspace drop." Dayrn reported.
"Drop confirmed. Go ahead and do it". Renjo replied.
The sound of the drive shutting down filled the room. An on-board camera projected its feed to a wall, and we watched the magnificence of light speed slowing down. A blue hue surrounded the ship, and the light streaks of stars began to slow. A sun zoomed past, then a planet and its rings flew by. We then stopped, with Romero Orbital in view.
"There it is. Romero Orbital. Requesting a dock now". Dayrn announced, then the computer chimed in afterwards. 'Docking request granted. Proceed to dock 18'.
"We're in. Should we proceed captain?" Green asked.
Renjo began to open his mouth, but Fiennes did it first and said, "Yes. We can proceed".
