"It was amazing, Noah! And then-" Cody was excitedly talking to Noah until Heather walked into the kitchen and interupted them.
"That's enough. Noah, go to the front." Heather ordered.
Noah narrowed his eyes at her while Cody just frowned.
He walked out reluctantly and Cody went back to working silently.
Noah sat at the counter in annoyance.
Heather walked back out and stood in front of Noah. "I just finished discussing ideas with Courtney, and we both agree it would be a great idea to set up an outdoor dining area so customers can eat in the sunlight." Heather said proudly.
"That's a terrible idea. Some desserts will melt instantly." Noah pointed out.
"Yeah, we thought of that. Courtney decided to add a little roof outside to add a little shade. She said something about how some people don't like the sun. Don't know what that's about..."
Noah smiled a bit, appreciating Courtney's attentiveness.
"I also decided it's about time we add drinks to our menu."
"That's such a good idea!" Scott suddenly chimed in. He was nearby cleaning windows.
Heather smiled smugly.
"This is a pastry shop. Not a café." Noah pointed out.
"So what? More menu items means more customers. Courtney liked the idea."
"Seriously?"
"Well, she said we can't suddenly add the drinks. We'll have to rennovate and add a separate area for the drinks."
"That's too much work... seems like a waste of money." Noah said.
"See, this is why I'm supervisor and you're just a lowly pastry chef..." Heather said dismissively.
Noah rolled his eyes.
Cody walked out of the kitchen with a tray of displays.
"Oh, good. You're done. You two always work so slow together. From now on you will be seperated." Heather decided.
Noah and Cody frowned at each other.
"While Cody puts out the displays, Noah can go clean the kitchen. This is how we will be working efficiently..."
Noah sighed dramatically and walked into the kitchen.
Cody sadly put out the displays.
A customer then walked in.
"Wow, this place looks good!" She said excitedly as she walked over to look at the displays that Cody was putting out.
"Oh, my God... there's 2 gingers in the room... this has to be bad luck." Heather said, putting a hand on her head.
The customer snorted out a laugh. "Yeah, I have been known to do that..." she joked.
She looked at the displays and made a delighted noise. "Oh, these look so good!" She suddenly gasped. "Is that custard? Wow, Eva will love that!"
"1 custard?" Cody asked, preparing to box it.
"Actually make that 2 custards!"
"Got it." Cody boxed up the two custard sweets and rang her up.
"Yum! Thanks a bunch!" The customer thanked them before skipping out.
Heather sighed in relief. "The bad energy has left..."
