"So... what were you doing all month..?" Cody wondered as Noah walked over with some tea.

Noah handed him a mug before sitting on the sofa next to him.

"Sleeping..."

"Seriously? That's it? I mean, you must have eaten something... right?"

Noah casually shook his head.

"Nothing at all? Not even water?"

Noah shrugged. "I just slept. I thought I would wake up after a few days... if Gwen hadn't woken me up, I probably wouldn't have gotten up at all."

Cody frowned. "That's so weird, Noah... how did you even survive without drinking water or eating anything?"

Noah stared at him blankly.

"Um..." Cody started.

"Tell me about your friends." Noah suddenly changed the subject.

"Huh? My new friends? They're two girls and-"

"Girls? Are they pretty?"

Cody smiled at him. "They're dating each other."

"Oh..." Noah was clearly relieved even as he tried to hide it.

"They both came to the shop while you were away... oh, actually- I think you've seen one of them before."

"I don't really care about the customers, Cody, if I'm being completely honest."

"Oh, then I guess you wouldn't know them..."

Noah shrugged. "I don't want to know them. You're the only friend I need."

Cody blushed lightly.

"Will it really bother you if I keep seeing them?"

"Of course it will. But I can't tell you what to do, can I..?"

"No, I like them and I want to keep being friends with them. But I did prioritize them over anything else..." Cody realized.

Noah rolled his eyes dramatically.

"I promise to be more mindful and make time for both you and my other friends." Cody said.

Noah scowled, but Cody could see the gratefulness hidden there.

"Come on, Noah... stop being so silly. Isn't there something you want to tell me..?"

Noah glanced at him.

Cody smiled hopefully.

Obviously Noah knew what Cody was implying, but he refused.

"Nope." He said stubbornly.

Cody frowned.

Noah sighed in annoyance. "I'm not allowed back to work this week, so you have to come visit me after every shift."

Cody smiled at him. "I have to? What will happen if I don't?"

"I won't forgive you..."

Cody looked slightly annoyed.

"What? Not convincing enough?"

"Not really... you're supposed to say something more romantic..."

"Why would I do that?" Noah asked in confusion.

"Oh, come on, Noah... this isn't fun anymore. Just tell me you like me already!"

"I don't!"

"Uh, yes you do!"
