Making sure a Titan lord didn't show up to camp with his fellow minions was not something Jason wanted to do this summer. But, if the world depended on it, then he would have to suck it up.
He and Piper were dressed in their full battle armor, surveying the forest for stray monsters-or worse. Now, obviously the forest was crawling with monsters, but Jason knew which ones were already put there, and which ones were put there by Kronos.
"So, how's you're life been outside of camp?" Piper asked.
Well, I just found out that the Avengers existed, Jason thought. "Um, it's been fine," was what he really said. "Haven't run into any monsters, though. That's good, I guess."
"You think Myron, Nico, and Angela are okay?" she asked.
"Nico's a strong kid," Jason replied. "And if Myron had the guts to come down to Tartarus to save us, then I'd put that kid in charge to save the world."
"But what if he, you know, raised Kronos on purpose?" Piper asked. "What if saving us was a distraction so he could give Kronos time to adjust to his new body?"
"Piper, the world's full of crazy things, like super heroes, demigods, and transforming robots. But Myron being an ally of Kronos is just too crazy for crazy."
Jason stared at Piper. He hoped he hadn't hurt her feelings or anything.
She finally started speaking again. "Yeah, I guess it's kind of ridiculous," she said. Jason pulled her in for a kiss, but something rustled in the bushes ahead of them. They looked towards the bushes, then at each other. Jason thought of this as a cue to take out his sword. He flipped the golden coin, only for it to turn into the golden sword Ivlivs. He started forward slowly, and pulled the bushes back.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold your toga, Grace!" said a voice before Jason slashed. But, the problem was, when he slashed, nothing happened. Then he looked down at his feet. Something wispy was sitting there. Its teeth were pearly white, and he had wings sprouting from his back. He wore a Colts jersey.
"Dylan?" Piper said from behind Jason. "I thought we got rid of you back on the other side of the country."
"Actually, Grace knows that we've seen each other after that," Dylan said. Jason had remembered. Just the thought made him still think he was still under water, talking to Kymopoleia.
"Anyways, there's something I have to tell you guys. Something about Kronos."
