"Let's go searching for a para..paradise!" Violet said in a drunken daze.Yes, I realized I would wake up with a massive headache and the possibility of being in an unfamiliar bed, but that was part of being friends with Violet Maters.
Violet has 3 layers. Unlike the onion females are constantly being compared to.
Layer one: beauty.
Layer two: insecurity.
Layer three: manipulation.
She does the manipulation part so well, to where even I, her best friend, will never know what she's going to do next or if she's being genuine.
I love Violet, but I hate her at the same time. She's infectious, and can mold you into who she thinks you should be.
So, as I'm being dragged by the arm up to the bedroom by some mildly attractive guy, I realize Violet's successfully molded me into exactly who she wanted me to be, because before I met her I never thought about how to get sex on a daily basis. But right now, I don't care at all.

I pull my skirt back on and look to the brunette next to me, who's completely naked and decide to throw a blanket on him.
I go downstairs to the kitchen looking for Violet or someone new to hookup with; whichever finds me first. I see the pantry door open and Lo-and-behold, Violet gestures for me to come and sit next to her. She shuts the door behind me and says, "Have you thought about my offer?"
"What offer?"
"To search for never ending paradise.. Duh." She says with a delirious giggle.
Oh, her "paradise." Which sure as Hell isn't in Louisiana. Most definitely not happening tonight.
"No." I snap at Violet.
I was a bit harsh, but this is how it always is with Vi. It's always one thing after the other that she wants to be able to say she's experienced. She's selfish; constantly makes me drop everything to go do "Whatever Violet Wants."
"Well I'm going with or without you." She snaps back.
"Good luck. You staying in town?"
"Hell no! I'm going south where the bikinis are plentiful and the sun never sets."
"Have fun." I say with a wave.
And with that Violet just walks out. I watch her walk down the street through the window. And as she steadily gets smaller, I feel... Relief?

"DANA! DANA GET UP WE GOTTA GO TO THE HOSPITAL!" My mother shouts at me.
"What.. Why?" I ask as I rub my eyes.
"JUST GET YOUR ASS IN THE CAR WHILE I WAKE YOUR BROTHER UP!"
As I scrambled out of bed I had two questions on my mind.
1) How did I get home?
2) Why am I going to the hospital?
We pull into the parking lot and my mother steps out of the car, and tightens her robe with a look of determination, grabs my hand, tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, and trudges forward.
"Hello ma'am, how may I help you?" The lady sat the front desk asked.
