What We Do In The Shadows: "Jen..."

Summary: There are unexpected consequences when Laszlo seeks a new human familiar...

Part CXI...

Colin, solus again, having retreated to the basement stairway...Sipping the cocoa he'd made.

Not that Dracula has put a scare in him...Ummn...Fuck, he was the most powerful vampire ever and even as a weak-kneed Redemptionista, he's still got that icy stare down pat. Even Barren Afanas couldn't hold a candle to him, one must admit. But hey, he's cool. He's EV. And he will roar when his time comes.

Yeah. Well...Would have been damn foolish to take on Dracula and the Slayer and Van Helsing's minions and probably Nandor the Poofy Redeemed...

Revenge after all is a dish best served, served. Not some dumb final speech as one vanished in a puff of smoke or burns or dissolves into goo.

"I sense a greater disturbance in the Dark Force. Meaning, natch, something's going on. Could be more allies of Van Helsing massing. Or even worse...Shit." Colin shaking head. "Well, I've set my course for revenge and even if Nandor's achieved a temporary Redemption, I'm not done yet. But it may be time for me to consult with my, Hell help me, allies, Simon Devious and co. Not that we're ready for a battle royal here. Though I wasn't afraid of fighting the Slayer, just didn't make sense to take on her, her foster father, and likely Nandor plus still devoted minions." He pauses, smiling.

"Now that may be the rub...Or the anchor. All these little human ladies still attached to Nandor, even Laszlo's and Nadja's are devoted to him as well. Well, lets see what's up above and outside. Easy enough to note I'm off to take a gander at my memorial pool." He went to door and opened.

Yeah...Definitely something new up, but I don't see any new players. Though that rather feeb boyfriend of the Slayer was definitely more than human if not a vampire.

You know you documentary guys could be a little more help at times...Level the playing field...Show some sympathy for the anti-hero.

I mean we bring conflict into the mix. Without us you got a boring thousand hours of us sitting around scratching our butts and whining about Unlife, with the occasional kill thrown in. With us, you got a thrilling mystery complete with a fight to the death between Evil and well, mixed Evil and Good, with some players right on the line, no one knowing how they will go.

Not bad for the guy you thought utterly beige and brown.

He makes his way along, much of the party now concentrated by the front door...

Fe-fi-foe-fum...I'm getting a distinct wiff of soul/vampire mix. And it's not Nandor's. Nor the "good" Doctor's.

Don't tell me I've lost another? Or maybe...? Dracula does have a Redeemed sister. Wuss runs in the family I guess.

"Colin." Erika, having pulled back to consider her own options, at the main table, eyeing Laszlo at the door saying goodbye to David and Jen, seeing Colin creeping.

Though nothing that unusual there, now she's got to know Robinson a bit. Creep is his standard gait.

"Have you heard the news? Nandor and Martha are engaged." She offers a friendly smile.

"What?" he stares, honestly startled.

That bastard...I knew he was interested in the old bag and even hoped he might seal his fate by taking her before they left but...

Seems rather unRedeemed to do so...Putting old Martha in danger like that. And what do you plan to do with the biddy in a few years, Mr. Redeemed? Settle down in a nursing home with her to watch her crumble to dust?
