Chapter 4: Betty White
I was researching on something about a missing girl, and I'm saying that it wasn't really that easy since I have to norrow it down to one and gladly I matched the picture of the girl that I saw in our school. Her name was Betty Copper and she had been missing for at least a month or two now. Poor girl.
"What're we doing here?" Matt, already getting bored, started annoying me by messing my hair.
"Just researching on some stuffs." I replied annoyingly, "Stop that will you!" I loudly said as he was really messing with my hair.
"Shhh!" I heard the librarian shush and gave us the be-quiet-this-is-a-library look.
"I'm sorry." I whispered.
"Hey what's that." This time it was more like a whisper.
"Nothing, just mind your own business." I replied as I continued reading on the article.
"Shesh." He leaned his head on the desk.
*****
"So what were you doing in there?" Matt asked, obviously he doesn't know what's the use of a Library.
"I was researching about this missing girl okay." I said rather hastily.
"And what's that for?" His tone a bit suspicious, "Don't tell me it's another one of our report cause I'm pretty sure it isn't."
"You won't even believe me if I tell you." I was quite sure he wont. He'll probably think I'm crazy and then I'll end up in an asylum, which wont really work out for me.
"Try me." He have his full attention on me, "Don't forget, I gave up my free period for this."
"And whoever said that you have to tag along?" I said in a matter of factly tone, "Well it sure ain't me, right?"
"Geez, okay, don't need to come hard about it." His tone in total surrender, "I'm sorry I asked. I was just curious that's all to it really."
"Well I'm sure that you don't want to be on this mess." I said as I took out my last period book from my locker.
After some long lesson about chemistry, our last subject, it was finally time for us to go home. At last a time to be alone at home.
As I walked the already emptying, hall I saw this maintenance guy, Carlos I think, he was kinda creepy since I sometimes see him staring completely at the wall for more than a minute, which is what he was doing right now.
I walked passed him and noticed that he was murmuring something like, "I didn't mean it. I didn't mean it." over and over. Now I think this man really lost his marbles. Its not that he's old, cause he's really not that old. I guess in his middle thirty.
I just ignored his constant murmuring and hurriedly made my way out of where the maintenace guy was.
"Where the heck are you?" I whispered to myself when suddenly a cold draft pass through me with a whispering voice, 'Help me!'
When I turned I saw no one except kids that were really busy stacking things to there locker, blabbering about things I don't understand.
I quickened my phase and head towards the gym where, I hope, Matt was. When I entered the gym, it was already empty, more like deserted.
"Matt?" I half shouted. The gym was really pretty creepy especially how the orange ray of light pass through the paned window.
"Help!" I heard a ghastly sound and there I saw the girl.
She was really pale, a splotch of blood could be seen on her torn out clothes almost revealing her flesh. I could see the small dent on her forehead and blood coming out from the it.
"Help me!" The ghastly girl repeatedly cried out.
I can't help myself from trembling, if only someone was here to save me from this apparition.
