Chapter 11: Club

I was still getting used to the fact that- first, this wasn't the room I used to grow up in, second, my mother was getting married and lastly, my brothers are the famous actor and singer.

I dragged myself to my own bathroom- yes I have my own bathroom now- as I prepared myself for school, my new school to be exact. I was beyond nervous just thinking about the rich kids in there. I wore the uniform prescribed by the school, I felt uncomfortable just by looking at myself in the mirror.

After making sure that I already prepared everything, I hurried down and saw that it was just Xavier in the Dining Hall, he was busy looking on his phone until he finally noticed my presence.

"Oh hey, it's you, come join me for breakfast." He said still munching on his toast.

I just nod at him as a reply and joined him for breakfast on the long table, which could probably fit 12 people in total. I could feel the awkwardness that lingered between us, or just me.

"So, you're gonna start at your new school huh?" He said with a hint of excitement, "It's a good thing that I enrolled us in the same program"

"What do you mean?" I asked as I turned to look at him.

"What? Father haven't told you?" He said with a hint of amusement in his voice, "We're gonna be on the same classes."

Oh was the only word I managed to mutter after hearing the news. I never even noticed that we were wearing the same outfit, how stupid of me not to notice that.

"Well, truth be told, I never got to finish school since, ehem not to be boastful, I got famous at a very young age." He said, "But, now that I have someone to go with me to class, I could finally finish high school you know."

"It's good to hear that you're interested to school after being, you know, famous." I finally could muster enough word to not make myself look like a fool in front of him.

"So should we go now?" He finally said and stood from his seat, and me following him.

We arrived at the school and surely, everyone was looking at us, or should I say at Xavier. Everything about the guy just screamed awesome and style.

I took my gaze away from the guy and glanced at school, hall was mostly in white and blue color, with different painting of well known artist on the wall, and the floor was made of well polished marble, the lockers were neatly affixed on the wall, making it look like a walk in wardrobe but smaller . I can't believe that I'm inside this institution, the well known Rutherford Academy.

Xavier and I separated after receiving our keys to the locker and lounge. Who thought that it was a thing? It is said that a lounge is where students are allowed to rest, which is not really a good thing to have for a school. We share the same lounge with Xavier since that's what he liked, and how could I possibly argue to that.

Thinking that the school was fancy and all, made me look forward to my classes, I was thinking that the it would be more exciting, but boy was I wrong.

"You're looking for a club right?" A woman approached me, she was about five seven in height and had a long wavy hair.

"Kind of." I replied and glanced on the board once more.

"How about join our club instead? Stop wasting your time on that petty clubs and join mine." She said jokingly, "I'm Meghan by the way, Meghan Blakers."

"Oh, I'm Samuel McCorvey, I mean Stanton, I'm not quite sure yet so Sam should be fine." I replied to her not sure if it was even a good idea to talk to a stranger.

"Don't worry, you're no more than a stranger to me either." She said as if she was reading my mind.

I wasn't sure if she was reading my mind or anything, but I was starting to get a weird vibe from her. I mean, what if she really was? And she could hear me saying that she was weird.

"Don't worry I'm not reading your mind stupid, your expressions just shows it off." She said and snorted loudly, and here I thought rich people were a snob.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." I apologized.

"Don't worry as long as you join my club everything would be cool." I don't know if she was threatening me or trying to be friendly since she was smiling.

In the end, she ended up convincing me to join without even knowing what kind of club that she was into. She just said that I would enjoy the club she is in and that they need enough member to make their club official, and luckily I have none. Or at least that was what she said.

We were now heading to our club room which was in the student lounge. I don't know if this was some kind of scam or if I should start running on the opposite direction, but my legs just keep moving towards our destination, as if it has a mind on its own.

"Don't worry nothing is gonna happen to you silly." She said and we finally stopped in front of a mahogany door which had a sign that read; "Investigation on Paranormal Activity"

"Are you kidding me?" It was the only thing the came out of my mouth, I knew it, it was some kind of a scam. I'm so screwed.

"No take backs!" She said and we entered the room which was huge, it was as big as our living room in my old house. With a complete set of sofa, television and some desk with some files on it.

"Meg, I told you not to force on new members." It was a bit skinny and had blondish hair.

"I didn't have to, he joined with his own free will."

Free will my ass, it felt like I was being threatened.

"And his a Stanton, aren't we lucky." She said giddily.

"I'm sorry about my friend." The skinny girl apologized, "by the way, I'm Kristen, but Kris should be fine."

"Ohh we have a new member?" A guy with blonde hair spoke from behind the computer desk, "I'm Cameron by the way." and he went back to doing his thing.

"So you managed to steal another member huh?" Another guy said making me look towards the door. He had black hair and I was sure that I know him from somewhere.

"Al did you have anything for us?" Meghan asked him excitedly.

"Naah, but I got tons of number." He said in a serious tone.

What have I gotten myself into, but it was a good thing that I finally have myself a club that doesn't do much work. My kind of extracurricular activity.
