Taylor's POV:

Life in New York City isn't half as bad as I thought it was going to be. Granted I've only been here for a few days, but still.

I try to avoid them as much as I can. There is no use for me to be becoming friends with these people if it is all temporary.

Since my father decided to send me out here, Adam has been coming to the apartment at least once a day to "hang out." But I know the deal. He's making sure I'm not being a lazy ass all day.

Nah, I'm not that kind of person.

If someone asks something of me, I keep my word. I gave my dad just that. I was going to work with the band for six months, then I was going to pack up and go and home.
And boy that is exactly my intention.

"You know it isn't polite to stare." I say as I turn fully.

Hayley jerked from her daydream and lowered her head.

"Sorry I just..." she sighed.

"Couldn't get any sleep?" I asked as I picked up the last of the dirty dishes and placed them into the dish washer.

"Not really." She came up beside me and leaned against the counter. "But then again what else is new."

"Right." I turned back around and continued to load the dishwasher.

"Yeah." She whispers to herself and once again stares.

Out of the corner of my eye I see her standing there. Just standing there. Her mind seemed to be a million galaxies away.

"Do you want to get some coffee?" I asked.

"What?" She questioned as she looked over at me.

"Coffee?" I turn my head. "Do you want to go?"

"Right now?" She leans onto her elbows curiously.

"No, Hayley next month..." I smirk. "Of course right now."

"Um." She looks over at the microwave clock and slightly bites down on her bottom lip.

"Frankly, I don't really care if you do or you don't. I'm just saying I can't seem to sleep and I always turn to coffee. And there so happen to be none in the cabinets..." I sighed.

"I don't know." She says shyly.

"Well," I walk out of the kitchen and head over to the coat closet that is right beside the door. I took out two coats. Mines and hers. "Here." I threw her coat at her. She stared at it and then looked up at me. "You can come if you want."

I proceeded to put my arms into the coat. She instantly did the same.

And without another word, she followed me out the doors, and down the stairs to the front entrance.

"There is a coffee shop around the corner..." She begins but I just continue to walk. "Wait!" She says as she jogs beside me. "Why are we still walking? The coffee shop is that way." She using her thumb to point back.

"I heard you the first time." I place my hands into my front pockets.

"Okay." she says and keeps up with my pace. "Where are we going then?"

I sighed. "I told you already, to get coffee."

She nods and doesn't say another word.

She was scared to be walking this late at night. She kept closing the gap between us. She was so close that I thought she was going to try and hold my hand at any given moment.
