The Introducing

Sophie was on the verge of tears. She was so happy. She was finally holding her baby. She was too lightheaded to make sense of anything. Then Elwin called somebody in. The next second, Edaline and Grady were in the room. "So? Grandson or Granddaughter?" Grady asked. Sophie smiled. "Granddaughter" She said. She looked down and stared into her baby's eyes. They looked normal to her. Then she realized something. "Her eyes are brown" Sophie said. The baby laughed. Elwin handed her a vial. "I guess your theory was true. She won't be too different though. I have a feeling she'll look like you Sophie" Elwin said. Sophie nodded and drank the vial. Instantly she wasn't sore anymore. She was starting to see clearly again and saw Elwin move toward the door. "Are you up for some visitors?" He asked. Sophie nodded and He went out the door. He walked in with Dex. "Sophie! How are you feeling?" He asked. "A little light headed, but definitely better than before" Sophie said. She handed Mare off to Dex and he looked at her in awe. "Her eyes are just like yours. Right down to the golden flecks" he said. Sophie smiled. She liked knowing that someone actually paid that close attention to her. Then Dex handed her back to Sophie and walked out. Biana walked in next. "Ooooh! Let me see!" She said. Sophie handed her to Biana and she smiled. "Boy or girl?" She asked. "Girl" Sophie answered. Biana smiled even wider. "You cannot give her a complete makeover at the age of 1, got it?" Sophie said. Biana nodded, but she was still smiling. "Hi Mare" she said. She looked like she was going to cry. Then she handed Mare off to Sophie and walked out. The next person who came in was Fitz. Sophie handed Mare to him and he stared at her. "She has your eyes, Sophie" he said. Sophie nodded and smiled. "She's going to be really beautiful like you" he added. This made Sophie blush. She looked over to Keefe but he seemed fine. Fitz handed Mare back to Sophie and Sophie handed her to Keefe. Keefe looked like he was going to cry. Sophie probably did too. Fitz left the room and Elwin gave them the all clear to go home. Sophie got up and the blood rushed to her head. She started to wobble and Keefe steadied her. Once her head was all cleared, they went back outside to see Fitz, Biana and Dex waiting. They all went back to Sungrove and went upstairs to one of the child rooms. It was huge. They had bought a crib, toys and furniture. They didn't have any clothes though, since they didn't know her gender. Edaline and Grady had gone out and bought some clothes after Mare was born ad Edaline conjured them to Sungrove. Everyone left Sophie and Keefe alone with Mare and they got her dressed. When they went downstairs, someone had thrown a party. There was a banner that said WELCOME HOME MARE and there were more people there. Alden walked up to Sophie and Keefe and congratulated them. He really was like a father to both of them. Sophie handed Mare to him and he studied her. He stopped when he met her eyes. Sophie didn't want to think about what her eyes met. Maybe she would have more than one ability. Both Sophie and Keefe have more than one ability. Keefe became a polyglot at the end of Sophie's 3rd year. Which was also the year he showed her he can mimic. Sophie wouldn't be surprised if Mare has more than one ability. It would be fun to raise an exceptional kid. Even better if she was a telepath. Then she heard a voice she's never heard. "Mommy" the voice said. "Mare's first words!" Sophie said. Everyone cheered. Then Marella walked up. Sophie handed Mare to her. "Hi Mare. We have the same name. Personally I think your mother has great taste in names" Marella said. She smiled at Sophie. "I thought you didn't like nicknames" Sophie said, smiling. "Well, I started to like them once we graduated from the elite levels" Marella said. Keefe took Mare back and she said "daddy" Keefe smiled. "Yes. I'm your daddy" he said. Sophie smiled too. Mare knew who her parents were.

Everybody left except for Fitz, Dex and Biana. They stayed and helped out with Mare. They all stayed the night. Mare didn't cry once. She was a very good baby. She kept babbling different words and peoples names, including hers. She took a liking to Iggy and his green braids. Iggy liked her too. That was good because imp bites are venomous. Not bad enough to kill or injure, but they sting. She also interacts with Vertina. Vertina absolutely loves her. Sophie still can't believe that they brought a new person into their world. It was the best thought Sophie had ever had.
