Naomi

Mel, Ty, and Jamie came to visit me. I am just sitting here listening to Mel and Ty have their own little conversation while Jamie, my godson, was sitting on my bed.

"Mama Mi-Mi, will you get better soon?" He asks with teary eyes.

"Yes, baby boy. I will."

"Okay. I'm just making sure."

I smile and hold my arms out to give him a hug. Soon enough, he slips into a peaceful sleep in my arms. My door opens to reveal Malik and Amar.

"Hi, mommy!" He shouts.

I shush him and point to Jamie.

"Oh. Sorry," he whispers.

I see Malik and Amar hiding something behind their backs.

"What are you guys up to?" I ask.

"Nothing, but these."

They both pull the flowers from behind them, and I can't help but smile. 

"Thank you!"

Malik sits both sets of flowers in the small vase near the window.

Amar climbs up on the bed and lays on the other side of me.

"Mommy?"

"Yes, Amar?"

"Is the baby okay?" He asks.

"Yes, baby. The baby is fine. I have a secret to tell you about the baby," I whisper.

"What is it?"

I lean down to his ear and whisper, "You're going to have a baby sister."

His whole face lit up and he grins from ear to ear.

"Really?"

"Yup. When the doctors were checking on the baby earlier, they were able to tell me if I was going to have a girl or boy."

"I told you were having a girl Mommy," he says, sleepily.

"You sure did baby."

I run my fingers through his curly hair until I hear him softly snoring. I see Mel and Ty getting ready to go. I hand them Jamie, and Mel comes to hug me.

"Get better boo. I'll see you in the morning."

"Okay. I call you later. Bye Ty."

"Bye Naomi. Get well soon."

"I'll try." 

The door closes and I turn off the lights. I feel the bed dip and see Malik getting into bed with me. I lay Amar on my chest so Malik could have more room. He kisses my forehead. I look up and kiss his lips.

"I'm glad you're okay baby," He says, resting his head on mine.

"Me too. I'm mainly glad my baby girl is okay."
