"Omg did you all see Tyler today? He changed his hairstyle again and I swear he looks fucking hot!"
"Stop it Liz you've never even talked to the guy stop spazzing over him"
Tyler Torwood was often the topic of conversation at my table because he was the it-guy of the school. Girls drooled when he walked past, swooned when he talked to them or flashed his supposedly charming smile at them. I on the other hand was oblivious to Tyler's good looks and charms call me crazy but the guy is not that great and honestly I think he's just another jerk with a swollen head. My friends did appreciate his charms and looks but none of them had ever talked to him so the attraction was purely physical. Lucky for me or I'd have to endure more mundane conversations about his hair and smile during lunch. Not a hater but not a Tyler Torwood fan either the object of my attraction was someone else.
Tall, possibly the tallest guy in school, well built, blond hair that was always perfectly messy, the most mesmerizing grey blue eyes and did I mention the smile? A smile which would have been a smirk if not for the expression in his eyes was the sexiest thing I had ever seen. That was Henry Bourmouth the object of my attraction. Henry was popular as well but unlike Tyler he didn't come of as a pigheaded jerk. He'd always flash me the sweetest smile when he crossed by in the hallways and stop to talk if he wasn't rushing to classes. Oh and did I mention he was a senior at school so knowing him was considered a huge deal. I know it seems shallow but I was proud I knew him personally and being the only one from my clique who knew him made it an even greater accomplishment.
"Stacey Staceyyyyy move it we have English now" Conner's voice snapped me back to reality. Yes I tend to space out at times, I'm a day dreamer. We packed up out stuff and rushed to class Ms Wendy the English teacher ha embarrassment punishments for late comers. She'd lock you out of the class if you were late and the only way you could sit through her class is if you performed a song or danced in front of the entire class. Talk about public humiliation considering I sing like a chipmunk! English class passed on quickly as it always does because it's actually pretty fun and one of my favorite subjects.
"Hey are any of you considering signing up for the camp leader thingy? It sounds pretty cool!" Carrie who was big on participating in school events always tried to convince us all to join her in them. Normally I would have dismissed her but being camp leader was a pretty cool thing. Each year a group of 9th graders would be elected as camp leaders to welcome the new batch of 8th grades to the school. Being camp leader meant you would not only be known by almost the entire school but you get to miss 2 weeks worth of classes due to orientation of the freshmen class. Plus camp leaders were know to have the time of their lives during orientation possibly the best time of their high school lives. The idea appealed to me greatly but I wasn't sure whether I'd be up for the challenge. I didn't like being in the spot light and being camp leader means you'd be the stars of the school because camp leaders were required to put up several performance for the freshmen class as well as prepare cheers and always be bubbly and high. Bubbly wasn't exactly a word to describe me. Don't get me wrong I'm no miss sullen and darkness but being cheery isn't me either. The entire school was buzzing about the camp leaders selection. I hadn't uttered a single word about it yet because I didn't want Carrie to bug me about it. Knowing I'm even the least bit interested would make her go on and on about how awesome the whole thing is.
"Tring tring" the last bell rang and everybody rushed to get out of school. On our way out we crossed the stand where the applications for camp leader were placed for interested students to take. I hesitated but then I grabbed an application. It was time I tried out something new and stepped out if my comfort zone. "WHOOP WHOOP STACEY WE CAN BE CAMP LEADERS TOGETHER I'M SO EXCITED!!!" Yes, Carrie's more excited than I am haha.
