The girls in my group were already gaping at the owner of the new voice whilst the guys were eying him suspiciously. I turned finally and there stood Tyler with his posse "heyy" I greeted and shot him a half smile.
"I just came to say hey haven't seen you since camp ended".
"That would be bcoz today's the first day of school" I stated matter of factly. My facial expressions were composed but honestly I was wondering why Tyler was here talking to me. Why did he say hi only to me I know he met Liz at the camp he knows her as well but he had made no attempt to acknowledge her.
"Haha yeh I didn't expect running into you at macey's"
"They have the best sundaes ever, can't keep me away haha" I replied back to him. The conversation wasn't heading anywhere and I didn't exactly wish to continue it but then I has no choice since Tyler had made no move to walk away. The guys with him had already found a table and settled down.
"Soo you like sundaes?"
"Erh yah" I replied lamely what else am I supposed say
"So I know one thing you like I'd like to know what else you like" and Tyler gave me his signature smirk which was meant to make me weak at the knees and blush and smile at him like a blundering fool.
"And I'd like to get back to eating my sundae" I replied dryly and turned to face my sundae and took a spoonful. Tyler's smirk was wiped off and he looked shocked but he quickly recovered from the shock and his face showed his usual emotions of pride, arrogance and amusement. Yes Tyler seemed to get amused too often each time we had come face to face. What can I say the guy is weird. "Sure Enjoy your sundae, see you tomorrow" he gave me a nod and walked off to his table of friends. 'Huh why would be see me tomorrow I have no intentions of making our run-ins regular'
"OMG Stac!!! You completely shocked him I swear you have to be the only girl who didn't blush and flirt while talking to him good act their!" said Liz.
"Erh what act?" I gave them a blank face.
"You know how you acted like you were totally not interested in him and he wasn't the hottest male alive" said Casey raising her eyebrows.
"Erh guys that wasn't an act. I am not interested in him. And he isn't the hottest male love though he might just be the most arrogant and vain male alive."
"That's my girl!" Exclaimed Connor seeming proud that I wasn't gushing over the school's Mr hot and popular. The guys in my group tolerate us girls talking about hot guys but excessive gushing makes them roll their eyes and grumble. Men definitely do not appreciate other males being appreciated in front of them.
"Anyways can we stop talking about HIM and talk about something fun" I rolled my eyes at the girls and decided a change of topic was needed. Liz had a crush on Tyler and if she got too exited we wouldn't be the only ones hearing about her desires for Tyler but the entire cafe which included Tyler himself would hear them too. Yes you may have guessed Liz started squealing and talking really loudly when she's excited.
We finished up our remaining sundaes and exited Macey's.
Once outside Liz gave me a frown "why didn't you say bye to Tyler?"
"Because we're not friends or anything I don't owe him a bye" I replied back casually.
"Stac he came to say hi to you which means if you leave first you're supposed to say bye to him. That's like the law of courtesy and since we're taking about Tyler I'd say that's common sense. Why miss the chance to talk to him" Liz was blabbering by now.
I sighed, my poor friend had it bad for the jerk who didn't even notice her existence. "Liz I'm sorry I lack the common sense which makes no sense to me but for the last time I am not interested in Tyler and I am not interested in interacting with him"
Liz made a face but didn't say anything else seeing as how I was pretty much done with the topic and had no intentions of discussing it further.
I reached home and was greeted by my older brother Dylan and his girlfriend Trisha cuddled up on the couch watching some movie. "Trissshhh I missed seeing you around" I went up to her and hugged her. Trish and me got along really well. She was like the older sister I never had. I was as excited about her coming over to our house as my brother. "Hey your big brother's here as well lying on the couch unnoticed and deeply hurt by the fact that his presence mean so little" Dylan said while placing a hand to his heart mockingly. Me and Trish laughed at his little dramatic act. I moved forward to hug him and received a kiss on the forehead. Dylan's 3 years older than me and we've always been close. We have a great brother sister relationship. The only thing annoying is he loves babying me and he can be a real tease at times. Then again I'm not less a tease but it's fun around him. I discarded my original plan of taking a nap once I reached home and joined Dylan and Trish on the couch. They didn't mind me spending time with them when they came home from college occasionally. These short visitors by my brother and his girlfriend meant I would drag Trish around to gossip shop or just ask he for advice about stuff going on in my life. Dylan complained constantly about how I spent too much time with Trish and deprived him of his private time and how it was unhealthy for his baby sister to be this close to his girlfriend. But I knew he secretly loved the fact that his two favorite girls got along so well.
