A month since the incident and here I am sitting at my desk, at work, planning away.
Tiffany never stopped begging me about what happened that night but I brushed her off. Jack is still with Oona and I'm still pissed.
I haven't talked to Jack for what seems like years. I miss him not the passion part of me, the friend side. I miss hearing him whine, I miss his breakfast fiasco, and I just miss him.
I think that girl really has a toll on him. Tomorrow is my birthday and he hasn't even called me up to wish me an early birthday.
"Janie?" A girl voice knocks
"Come in!"
"Hi, Oona. What a pleasant surprise, what are you doing here?" I politely say
She walks over and sits on the kids stool,"I came by to say sorry"
I am taken back,"Sorry for what?"
She sighs,"I think we got off on the wrong foot"
Oh?
"Um- is Jack here?" I place my pen down
"No he's not, I just wanted to let you know that I'm sorry for taking away Jack from you" she places her hands on the table
"No by all means he's something to you" I let out a small smile.
I know I love Jack but what purpose am I doing taking away his love life. I shouldn't intrude and maybe give her, Oona a chance.
"I just needed to get that off my chest"
I begin packing my things,"I get where you're coming from. Me, being really close to him has its effects but I don't want to stop you two from seeing each other"
She gets up and pats down her dress,"Ahh, thanks you, thank you, thank you!"
"You're welcome" I sling my Chanel purse on my shoulders
"O-M-G is that a Chanel purse!" She squeals and walk over and lifts the purse.
"Yeah" I mumble
"So cute! How'd you get it?"
"Just felt like spoiling myself" I lie
"Lucky gal!" She purses her lips
"Yeah, look I have to get going. Do you need a ride?"
"No, I'm good thanks Janie" she leaves the room and I lock up.
By the time I get home I slump at the bench by the shoe rack. What a day! Tomorrow is my birthday and it's finally going to be Friday! The week just keeps getting longer and longer.
"Janie? Is that you?" Jack whispers
"Jack?" I get up from the bench.
"Janieeeee" he runs to hug me. "I missed you so much! Sorry I neglected you, I should have known better!"
I hug him tighter, I miss this, I miss us. Just us.
"I miss you too Jack" I sniffle
"Don't cry Janie" he pats my hair as I clutch onto him.
It feels like home, like the old times.
"Let's go sit" he lets go of me and walks to the sofa
"How have you been Jack?" I start off
"Come on Janie! Don't be all weird" he smiles. I missed his smile.
"Okay, how are you and Oona doing?"
