Chapter 40

"Babe! Look at this shirt I bought the other day!" Luke came running, or rather waddling at a quick pace, to Ashton, holding up his new t-shirt.

Ashton laughed when he read the words printed on them. "That's cute princess. Go get dressed so we can go shopping." Luke nodded and smiled before kissing Ashton quickly and bouncing (again, it was really a waddle) into his room. Ashton chuckled and shook his head. He loved that boy too much.

"Okay Ashy! I'm ready!" Luke came back out, walking into Ashton's arms and giving him a sweet kiss.

"You look adorable princess." Luke giggled and took Ashton's hand.

"Let's go! These babies are due in a month and we need to get a ton of stuff."

Luke and Ashton had only been shopping for half an hour, and already had a cart full of items. Granted, most of the cart was taken up by the car seat they had chosen, and the double stroller boxed up at the bottom.

They were now looking through the clothing items. They had gotten bottles, blankets, diapers, a diaper bag, wipes, a changing pad, formula, and baby-proofing stuff. They still had a bunch more on the list, so they knew they'd be here a while.

"There are so many cute clothes! God Ashton, look at this!" Luke lifted up a little blue onesie with a cartoon monkey on the front. He tossed it into the cart. "We might need another cart," he giggled.

"I'll go get one. I'll be right back sweetheart." Ashton kissed Luke softly before heading towards the front of the stage.

Luke sighed happily and kept sifting through clothes, picking a few more necessities. The couple already had onesies, pajamas, shoes, and pants for the little ones, so Luke was looking through socks, coats, hats, and mittens.

Luke picked up a pair of socks with little frogs scattered around when he heard a voice behind him. "Those are adorable." Luke whipped around, gripping the socks right in his hands.

"M-Mum?" Liz pulled Luke down for a hug, but the small boy was too shocked to do anything in return.

"Oh Lukey, I'm so sorry! I can't believe I was so horrible to you. I love you! I don't care if you're gay or straight, wear boy clothes or girl clothes, are pregnant. I still love you just the same. And I want to be a part of the babies' lives. I'm their grandma, so I need to be there for them, and for you." Luke wiped his eyes, clearing himself of the tears.

"Th-Thank you Mum. I missed you so much."

"Oh baby, I missed you too." Liz kissed Luke's cheek, then gasped at his stomach. "Look at you! There are definitely two babies in there." Luke giggled, looking down at his stomach and rubbing it softly.

"Yeah, two little babies. My two little babies." Liz smiled sadly.

"I'm so sorry I kicked you out." Luke shrugged.

"It's okay. I've been living with Ashton, and I love living with him. He's the best boyfriend, and father of my babies, that I could have ever wished for." Liz kissed Luke's cheek again.

"I'm so happy you're happy." Just then, Ashton walked back up, pushing an empty cart.

"What's going on?" Luke grinned at his mother, gripping her hand.

"Mum came and apologized. She wants to be a part of the babies' lives. My mum came back." Ashton grinned at Luke's giddiness. He came up and kissed Luke's cheek.

"Thank god. Nice to see you, Mrs. Hemmings."

"Oh please, it's just Liz. You've been taking care of my son for seven months, you can call me Liz." Ashton smiled.

"Liz."

"Well, I should get back to shopping! Lukey, please call me anytime you need. Come over, see me, your brothers, any time you want! I love you."

"Love you too Mummy." Liz blew a kiss and left the area of the store, pushing her cart away. Luke grinned, leaning into Ashton.

"C'mon beautiful, let's keep shopping." The boys then went to buy a baby carrier, burp cloths, bottle cleaning supplies, a high chair, bowls, spoons, sippy cups, bibs, pacifiers, toys, a play mat, baby books, a first aid kit for babies, safety gates, baby monitors, teething toys, and things to keep the babies clean, hygiene things. They spent a ton of money that day, but they knew these babies would be spoiled rotten, so they didn't mind. Though the babies shouldn't be born for over a month, things happen, especially with twins, and babies are born early, so they wanted to be prepared for whatever may come.
