Chapter 33

1 month and half later*

Laila's POV

I'm sitting in the waiting room to get some blood work for my surgery tomorrow. I hate blood work, it really grosses me out. The fact that your blood is literally getting sucked out of me disgusted the crap out of me.

"Jacobs." the nurse calls out. She hands me a cup and points to the restroom. I take the cup and do my business in it. I put it in the box on the wall and walk to the phlebotomy room. Taking my seat, the nurse comes and puts a rubber thing around my arm.

"Ready?" I shake my head, "Don't worry its 3 tubes you'll be done in less than five minuets. She pokes my arm and blood starts flowing into the tube. She finishes with the last tube and then wraps my arm up.

"All done?" I ask and she nods.

"Be here at eight sharp, you can get anesthesia quickly and then right into surgery." I nod and walk out of the room to my car.

I drive home and go to my room and lay on my bed. My front door opens and I hear Jacob. "Laila! I brought Chinese!" he says walking up the stairs. "Hey! Whats up?"

"Nothing when ever I get blood taken out I feel queasy after. Nothing chinese can't fix right!" I shoot up from my bed and walk to the kitchen. "Did you get Panda?"

"Duh!" I pull the takeout boxes and see one with my name.

"Oo you got me just what I like!" I say doing a little dance.

"Well I just feel like you need a little food, you have a pretty hectic day coming." He says pulling out some forks.

"The nurse told me I have to go in at eight. Did you want to come?" I ask.

"Do you want me to come?" I nod, "Then it's settled I'll be there."

Next Day*

I get up at six thirty to shower and get ready to leave. My mom is downstairs, waiting for me. I hear talking to someone, it's Jacob probably. When I walk downstairs I see Sam sitting at the island and I freeze.

"Oh! Hi!" I say walking up to him.

"Sorry for just barging in! I just wanted to wish you luck." He says pulling me into a hug. "Are you nervous?" I nod.

"The doctor told me it's just a laser surgery. It should be healed with in like two weeks." I say.

"Well I'm going to head out, I'm driving to Tucson today, I just wanted to say goodbye." Goodbye?

"I'll see you in a few weeks won't I?" I stammer.

"Uh, yeah I just didn't know if you were going with us to Lake Havasu." He says.

"Oh I'm skipping that, but I'll see you in Cleveland." I nods.

"Alright Laila, well I'll see you in a couple weeks then." He says hugging me.

"Call me when you get there." He says as he walks out of my house.

I put my shoes on and Jacob walks in. He kisses my forehead, "Ready?" I shrug.

"Yeah I guess. Mom! Let's go!" She comes out of the kitchen with her purse in her hand. We walk out the house and into my moms car. The drive is quiet and we sit for a few minuets until she pulls into the   hospital.

"Laila Jaobs. We're ready for you." I hug my mom and Jacob, then walk into the room.

"Actually Ms.Jacobs your mom needs to come in." I nod then call my mom back in.
