ZAYN'S POV:
The only thing I've been able to think about for the past 3 days was that damned note. The note I had found in Sophie's pocket. I've been putting it off because I know she doesn't want to be bothered right now, considering she's been healing, but I think it's time I need to ask her.
It's bothering me mainly because I know she didn't show me, so what happens if she gets another note and doesn't tell me then? Something could happen again and I'm not going to take the risk of her getting hurt again. I won't have it.
I pulled into Sophie's driveway, parking my car beside her mum's. I made sure the coast was clear before I locked my car and let myself in the house. I had asked Sophie for a key earlier on in the week so if I needed her, I could get to her easily.
I closed and locked the front door behind myself and came face to face with Sophie's mum.
"Oh, hello Zayn. I'm just off to work, Sophie's upstairs helping John with some homework. I'll see you all later, I'm going to be home around midnight I presume." She quickly spoke, obviously in a hurry.
"Ok, I've got it. Now get to work!" I joked, giving her a quick hug.
She laughed and hugged me back, and I made sure she had left safely before I went to the kitchen. I checked the back door and made sure it was locked, doing the same with the other windows and doors on the front floor. I started walking upstairs, following Sophie's voice to her bedroom.
I leaned in the doorway, smiling at the sight of Sophie trying, and obviously failing, to help John with his work.
"But that makes no sense!" John complained, his eyebrows scrunching together.
Sophie let out a loud sigh, laying back down on her mattress. I decided I'd better step in before she lost it on the kid.
"Hey John, what is that you're learning?" I asked, making both of them jump.
Sophie smiled at me and slowly got off the bed, running towards me.
"Hello," I mumbled, catching her small body in my arms. I cradled her to my chest and kissed her forehead lightly.
"Please save me from this." She whispered into my neck, her warm breath tickling my skin, cold from the nippy weather.
I chuckled, "Alright, alright."
We finally parted and I looked at John to see him looking down at his homework papers, a puzzled look covering his adolescent face.
I walked over to him, Sophie on my trail, "Hey buddy, why don't you take a break and I'll help you in a while? I bet I'm a better teacher than this loser anyways." I winked at him, earning myself a smack in the shoulder from Sophie.
I chuckled and John smiled, looking relieved. He gathered his papers and pencil and ran out of the room, probably off to play with his Legos in his room.
I turned to look at Sophie once he was gone. I needed go get this note off of my chest.
"Soph, we need to talk about something." I began, and a panicked look immediately crossed her face. She could tell by my disapproving tone that I was upset.
"What's wrong?" She asked worriedly.
I paced back and fourth as she sat on the end of her bed, staring at me with worry in her eyes. I know the pacing was a bit much, and it probably added a bit of tension, but I was upset.
"Why didn't you tell me about the note?" I couldn't hold it in much longer, I just needed an answer.
Sophie froze. She had obviously pushed the note to the back of her mind, not bothering to think about it. She didn't like those types of things on her mind. They always stressed her out, because she gets stressed so easily.
