SOPHIE'S POV:
Zayn and I didn't exchange a word for the rest of the class. At times, I'd look over at him to see him staring straight ahead with a strange expression.. It was, I don't know, dark?
A few times though, I caught him staring at me with a confused and angry expression. Why? I have no clue.
The bell finally rang and I quickly gathered my things, avoiding eye contact.
We both gathered our things in silence, not bothering to even look at each other.
"Come on." He said flatly, leading me out of the room with his hand on my back.
I shivered at his touch, something about it.. It was just, so electrifying. I'm not sure why, but it felt.. Comfortable? It made me feel safe. It felt weird, considering Zayn scared the living shit out of me.
We got out into the hallways and Zayn retracted his hand from my back, walking closely by my side.
I was confused. He was leading me out to the parking lot. I have to stay for my voice lesson with Chafin. I don't go home right after school.
"Um, Zayn, I'm not leaving.." I mumbled, looking up at him.
It was awkward, considering that's the first thing I'd said to him since the beginning of last period. My voice came out almost strained, afraid of what he'd say.. Or do..
He looked at me with a confused look, stopping in his tracks. I took it as a sign to explain.
"I have a voice l-lesson." I stuttered out, taking a step back from him.
He smirked at my actions, obviously finding amusement in me feeling intimidated by him.
"Alright, let's go then." He said, amusement clear in his voice.
He walked by me again on our way to the chorus room, the smirk on his face never leaving.
His arm brushed against mine, making me shiver at his touch yet again.
I heard him chuckle beside me, but thankfully, he took a step away from me.
We walked to the chorus room in silence, the tension between us radiating throughout the air. The halls were almost empty, with the rare students at their lockers or couples making out in the halls.
"Hey Soph!" Chafin called out from behind the piano once the door opened, not bothering to look up, knowing it was me.
"Erm, hey." I mumbled, setting my bag down.
He looked up and his eyes widened when he saw Zayn.
"Oh, hey Zayn." He said sternly, giving Zayn a small nod.
"Hello." Zayn said, nodding back.
I stood there awkwardly, waiting for Zayn to leave, but he didn't.
"Um, Zayn, you don't have to stay.." I mumbled, breaking the silence.
"No, it's fine. I'll wait and drive you home." He said, taking a seat and pulling out his phone.
"It's fine. I walk-" I started, but he cut me off.
"No, I'll drive you." He stated firmly.
The way he was looking at me scared the shit out of me, so I just went with it.
"O-okay." I stuttered.
Chafin and I started our lesson with some simple warm ups, and then we went straight into my music.
