ZAYN'S POV:

"The Allies, mainly Britain and the United States, understood that they needed to take the German air forces very seriously.." Mr. Evans droned on and on about World War 2.

I honestly don't understand how Mr. Evans can make history so boring. I absolutely love history, but this man just finds a way to make me hate it.

I found myself doing what I'd normally do, and I looked over to see Sophie quickly jotting down notes, probably verbatim. Her eyebrows were scrunched up, and that was a way of showing she was desperately trying to understand the information. She's adorable when she's concentrating.

It's been 5 days since the 'incident' as Sophie wants to call it. We haven't talked about it nearly at all. She gets scared and upset whenever I bring it up. I can tell how unsafe it made her feel, and that isn't okay with me at all. I'm gonna make sure Derek pays for this.

Derek stopped coming to school, for obvious reasons. I'm glad he did though, I'm not really wanting to kill him on school property.

My train of thought was interrupted by Mr. Evan's closing the lecture, thank god. We could go home.

"Does anyone have any questions?" He asked in his thick Dudley accent.

I saw Sophie slowly raise her hand, obviously not wanting to talk with all of the class talking. I kept my gaze fixed on her as she spoke, simply amazed at her interest in this class.

"Ahh, Sophie?" Mr. Evans said happily. Sophie is by far his favorite student, due to her interest in the class. He says next year he's definitely putting her in an honors course.

"Why was the Battle of Britain only fought in air? Was Germany just too afraid to go in on foot?" She asked, needing to make sure she had all of the information on every single aspect of the event.

I grinned at her. That's my baby.

I heard a guy from the back groan as Mr. Evans happily answered Sophie's question, and I immediately turned in my seat to see some jock glaring at Sophie for asking her question.

I spoke up before I could stop myself.

"Sorry, what was that?" I asked loudly, just wishing the guy would burst into flames so I didn't have to beat the hell out of him.

He grinned at me, obviously happy to provoke me. "Tell your little girlfriend to chill with the questions because honestly, no one cares. We wanna get out of here." He directed that part at Sophie, who was now turning to see what the commotion was. I could hear Mr. Evans in the back trying to get us to settle down, but that definitely wasn't going to work today.

I could see a flash of hurt cross Sophie's face as she looked down at her hands in her lap, and that was enough to set me off. I was up on my feet, headed towards the tool.

"Say one more thing about her and I swear to god I'll-" I didn't get to finish, because Sophie had grabbed hold of my arm, pulling me back into her.

"Zayn, stop." She spoke quietly, obviously trying hard to keep her voice even.

The guy smirked and as I lunged at him again, Sophie wrapped an arm around my waist, walking back to our seats in the front.

Thankfully, the bell rang just then. The guy and his friends scurried off, and I mentally took note of what he looked like so I'd know for future reference.

"Malik, I'd like it if you could refrain from fighting in my classroom." Mr. Evans said calmly. He looked at me and gave me a wink, telling me that he understood my reasoning. I nodded politely at him and waited by Sophie's desk for her to leave.
