The morning light slipped gently into the room, brushing past the curtains and spilling gold over the bed.

Tripura was already up.

Fully ready.

Chic casuals hugged her frame perfectly, a leather jacket thrown on like punctuation. Her hair fell in soft curls around her shoulders, plum shimmer gloss catching the light, bold kohled eyes sharp and alive. She looked like the kind of woman who plans the day before the day even wakes up.

She walked toward the bed and paused, watching Ram sleep - mouth slightly open, arms hugging the pillow like it was the love of his life.

A slow smirk curved her lips.

She bent down, leaned close to his ear, and whispered in the sweetest, softest voice,

"Good morningggg..."

Ram, deep in sleep, smiled.

A full, content, stupidly adorable smile.

In his half-dream state, his mind instantly dismissed it as fantasy.

Nah.
Tripura waking me up sweetly?
Dream hi hoga.

He hugged the pillow tighter, snuggled his face into it, and sighed happily.

Tripura straightened.

Her brow narrowed.

Why... was he smiling like an idiot?

She called again, a little louder.
"Ram."

No response.

She tapped his arm.
"Ramm."

Nothing.

She huffed.

And then - something clicked.

That dangerous, mischievous spark lit up her eyes.

She bent down again, lips close to his ear, and in one sharp breath she screamed-

"RAMMM!"

Ram jerked awake like his soul left his body and came back running.

He shot upright, wildly unstable, heart racing, eyes unfocused.

"What-what-WHAT-"

He blinked.

Once.
Twice.

Slowly, his vision cleared.

Tripura stood beside the bed, hands behind her back, smiling brightly - teeth fully on display like she'd just won a national championship.

Ram lifted his hands, shaping them into the universal what-the-hell-just-happened sign, still half asleep, half annoyed, brain completely offline.

Tripura chirped happily,
"Wake up, Mr Husband. It's late. I want to step out."

Ram squinted at the wall clock.
"...It's just 8, yaar, Tripura."

He collapsed back on the pillow dramatically.
"Why do you want to go out so early? Bahar jaake tumhe rangoli thodi na daalni hai dukaano ke entrance mein. All the shops will be closed now. Sleep for some time. We'll go later."

Saying that, he caught her wrist lazily and tried pulling her down toward the bed.

Tripura immediately swatted his hand away.
"No excuses."
