Light Me Up *Sequel- ON HOLD*

Who's tired of empty promises & who's tired of all the games you play?

Fifth Grade:

I smile as the p.e. teacher makes Bailey a team captain. I completely suck at sports, especially dodgeball, so I'm more than happy that my friend can save me from being last picked. Bailey smirks as she stands, arms crossed, beside the other team captain, Milo. I give her a thumbs up.

"Bailey, pick your first player," Coach Oswell demands, readjusting his blue ball cap over his greying hair. She nods, her eyes looking around the room in delight.

"Hunter." My smile falters, but only slightly before I realize that this is a good thing, because then I'll be on the same team as them both. Hunter, who's been sitting beside me, stands up & gives me a small smile before walking behind Bailey. I barely contain a growl as she clearly checks him out, & trust me she knows how I feel about him. I guess I shouldn't blame her though, he is amazing..

Four minutes later, I'm the last kid left to chose, leaving me to Milo's team. Frowning, I try to avoid eye contact with anyone as I go over to Milo's side of the gym. Everyone knows that Bailey & I are best friends. Although we did promise each other to always pick the other for any sort of team, I guess promises expire.

Present Time:

"I guess this is it," I say as I look at my two friends standing before me. Kristy looks a bit troubled, but sad at the same time along with Dillon.

"We'll text all the time," Kristy says as she offers a smile.

"Besides," Dillon begins. "Let's not say goodbye. Let's just say, see you later. This separation isn't permanent."

"Right!" She butts in quickly, still looking troubled over something. "Visits!"

"We'll visit soon," Hunter smiles, giving Dillon a 'man' hug. "You guys take care."

"Thanks, you both do the same," he replies as Hunt hugs Kristy.

"I'll text you guys later," I say as I sit down in the rental car's passenger seat. Hunter puts my crutches in the back seat.

"You better!" She teases, the troubled look on her face having lessened. I wonder what that's all about..

I nod, smiling. Hunter closes the door & shuffles over to the driver's side. As soon as he puts the key in, I roll my window down.

"I'll miss you guuuys," I drawl out. With sad smiles, we all say goodbye & we leave.

"Are you sure about this?" Hunter asks as we drive down the road back to his tour bus. It's only about less than 2 hours away, so we'll be back at the tour in no time at all. "I don't want to take you away from your friends.."

"I'm sure. I'll miss them, but I don't want to have to miss you like that." A small smile lights up his features.

"I love you," he says.

"I love you too baby," I reply as I put my hand on top of his that sits between our seats.

Dillon's POV:

"You ok?" I ask Kristy, suspicious. It was obvious as she was talking to Lexi that something was troubling her. Even Lexi noticed, although she didn't say anything.

"Of course," she says, crossing her arms defensivly across her chest.

"Just spill." Her hard expression turns into one of defeat as she sighs.

"I guess I just feel guilty about not telling Lexi about everything. I mean, after what had just happened with her phyco ex I should have told her."

"Yeah, you should have. If she finds out now, there's no telling how she'll handle it. Not well, for sure."

"Ugh!" She groans, pulling at her strawberry blonde hair. "She won't forgive me. You won't tell her, will you?"

"Why would I? I promised you I wouldn't say anything, & I won't." A ghost of a smile appears on her face, something unreconizable in her eyes as they look at me.

"You're a good friend." She playfully bumps her knuckle against my shoulder, almost awkwardly.

"Uh, thanks. So are you." I return the gesture. We stare at each other in an uncomfortable silence. "You wanna go grab a bite to eat?"

"Oh, sure."

*I must apologize, this does not feel like a good chapter to me. But I'm hoping it'll be like the other story, just starts off slow then it'll get smoother. Anyway, IMPORTANT QUESTION: If you had to pick, which bad guy from LMM (when you think about it, there was kinda alot o.o) should make a return?*
