Third grade:

"How cool would it be if we lived together?" I ask with a thoughtful smile as I look over at Hunter. I readjust myself, causing my soft, purple bed to squeak beneath us.

"Only extremely. We would be able to eat only the best foods all the time, & always play games." His blue eyes hold happiness in them as they look at me.

"It would be the best," I sigh out as I fall onto my back. The softness instantly relaxes me after a day of outdoor play, & I close my eyes in content. "Maybe we'll get to, some day."

"I sure hope so, Lex. I sure hope so."

Lexi's POV:

I feel my heartbeat gallop inside of my chest as I look around the apartment. Hunter's apartment. Now ours, I suppose.

"How do you like it?" He asks softly, wrapping his arms around my waist as he rests his chin on top of my head.

"I love it." My eyes travel around the Nashville apartment, taking in every detail. It's quite spacious, the living room we stand in being twice the size of mine. Well, my old one. It's got white walls, & over top of the black leather couch hangs a picture of the grand ol opry, lit up for the audience. There is a large plasma screen television opposite of the couch, hanging off of the wall.

"Man," he begins. "Years ago if you told me we'd be here, I don't know if I'd have believed you. It all seems too good to be true." I would nod if his head wasn't sitting on top of mine.

"Or about all the crazy things that led here." He chuckles, which I join in on happily. It sure was a crazy journey, but it was more than worth it.

"So let's get your things unpacked. You don't mind sharing a room, right?" Hunter asks me with raised eyebrows, being the considerate gentlemen that he is.

"Nah I don't mind," I smirk, looking at all my things that are in their boxes & luggage carts on the floor behind us. "Where am I putting all my clothes?"

"I figured that we could go to the store to look for your very own dresser if you want, although there's still some room in my closet for anything that needs to be hanged," he explains as we begin carrying some of my things into his bedroom. Or I guess I should say our bedroom now? The thought makes my lips curl up into a big smile, & my heart flutters in my chest.

My eyes widen as I walk into the bedroom, taking in each detail of each little thing. It's fairly big, with the walls being painted a perfectly snowy shade of white & the carpet being a deep maroon red. There isn't a window, but instead is actually just a see through door to an outside balcony, & it looks like it has a great view of the city.

Right beside the walk in closet, to my relief, is a full body mirror so I'll be able to get a good look at my whole appearance in the mornings when I'm getting dressed.

The bed, covered in pretty green blankets, is a huge king sized one, pillows covering up the head part. Resisting the urge to grin at his pillow overdose, I simply run & jump onto the bed. I shut my eyes with a lazy smile as I stretch my body out, only opening them again when I hear chuckling.

"What?" I ask Hunter with a raised eyebrow.

"Nothing, you're just really cute." I bite my lip, fighting back a grin. I could get used to this.

Dillon's POV:

"Ready to go, mi'lady?" I ask Kristy in a teasing voice, casually checking her out without making it seem too obvious. She's got on some tight jeans that fit her curves in all of the right places, & a flannel red shirt with a denim jacket over top. Her strawberry blonde hair is pulled back into a high ponytail, & it looks like the only makeup she used was mascara, eye liner, & lip gloss.

My eyes linger on her lips longer than they should have.

"Yup," she smiles, walking out of her apartment & shutting the door behind her. "All good to go."

In no time at all, we're at JC Penny's, looking through the dresses. My eyes rake over all the different colors, trying to pinpoint the one that she showed me in the catalog earlier again.

"Found it." Looking up, I offer her a smile as she shows me the familiar silky blue. "Should I try it on?"

"Wouldn't hurt," I say, following her over to the dressing area. Plopping down in a chair, I watch as she shuts the door to change. Picking up a magazine on a nearby table, I read til I hear the door open back up minutes later & I look up to see one of the best sights I've seen in a while.

My eyes rake her over, starting from her nice long legs up. The blue silky fabric stops a little above her knees in the front, while at the back it goes down some more as if a small cape. The dress fits her hips perfectly, & it looks like a good place to rest my hands.

My little buddy down below makes a sudden movement.

My eyes finally finds her face, starting from her soft pale pink smile, to her slightly freckled nose up to her green gaze.

"You look great," I say slightly breathless, still feeling movement from inside my pants. "Definitely the one." Her lips curl up into a small, grateful smile. "Uh, the dress, I mean." Rubbing the back of my neck, I shrug innocently & resist the urge to smack myself. I'm such an idiot.

I used to be able to get any girl I want without batting an eye, & now I can't even talk properly to one.

But Kristy is so much more than some girl. So, so much more. Of course she would never settle for a guy like me.

"Thank you," she says sheepishly, her shy smile lighting her eyes up.

Nothing makes me feel more proud to be the man to be apart of what made them light up like that.

*I really am NOT proud of this chapter, I just couldn't get into it for some reason.. y'all deserve better, considering I took waaay too long on it -my deepest apologies- especially seeing how short it is... but I just started on the next one & I can already tell that my writing will be much better, if I do say so myself :) may go back just to redo this one... even if it is a filler, I want it better. Thanks for reading, y'all :))*
