"You mean it was just one of your fans?" I gape at Hunter in wide eyed- open mouthed shock as the sunlight hits us through the slight opening of the window curtains. The yellow light hits the side of his face, creating shadows on the other side, as he stands in front of me with his arms crossed over his firm chest. He's in a fresh white tee shirt & jeans, obviously, having just woken up an hour ago to talk to the officer again. It turns out that the mysterious text I received last night was simply from a jealous fan in Louisiana who somehow got a hold of my phone number.
"Yup," he sighs, a small frown unlighting his features to make him appear more tired. His blue eyes, however, remain unchanged as they stare at me intently. "I swear, Lexi, most of my fans aren't like that."
"I know," I smile softly as I stand up from where I sit on the edge of the king sized bed & walk over to him. "I've met plenty of fans at your shows, & they all seemed very sweet & amazing." I wrap my arms around his neck as I look up at him through my eyelashes. "We're all lucky to have you around, you know."
"Really?" He perks an eyebrow, smiling as his hands land on my hips.
"Yeah, you're the perfect role model for them. You never do anything wrong, & the only scandal you've ever been involved in was Bailey's fault." He smiles sheepishly as he shrugs his shoulders.
"Maybe I don't do anything wrong, buuut I can get a little crazy." The corner of his soft, pale pink lips lift in a smirk as his ocean blue eyes look down at me.
"Is that so?" I challenge, tilting my head to the side as I notice the glint in his eyes.
"Yep," he says quietly as he bends his head lower. "You want me to prove it?" I try not to bite my lip at how husky his voice is. Ignoring the chills I get, I smirk & raise an eyebrow.
"If you think you can, go ahead. Make my day." His smirk widens before he takes a step back, leaving my lips suddenly feeling cold. Gosh, I really thought he was going to kiss me. Well, I had hoped at least.
He walked over to a table where his baseball cap & sunglasses sit & put them on before he walks back to grab my hand.
"Alright, let's go."
"Wait, what?"
"Let's be crazy," he says simply, raising his eyebrows behind his shades. "You with me baby?" With widened eyes, I look down at myself, cringing at the thought of wearing my grey sweatpants & baggy Louisiana tee shirt out in public. I'm sure my hair matches it perfectly.
"Sorry hon, there ain't no way I'm walking out that door looking like this."
"Fine." Without any warning, I'm being lifted off of my feet & I squeak in shock as he puts me over his shoulder. Despite the hot view, I lightly pound my fists onto his back as he begins walking to the door of the hotel room.
"Hunter Easton Hayes! You put me down!"
"Why?" He asks, & I can hear the pout in his voice. "You said you wouldn't walk."
"Smarty," I mumble under my breath before letting out some air through my lips, unintentionally blowing a strand of hair from my face. "Can you please let me down so I can at least get dressed?"
"Why? You already look beautiful." My cheeks heat up as I bite my lip, not knowing how to respond. He's too sweet.
"Thanks but it still isn't proper to go out in my PJ's." With a sigh, he reluctantly sets me down to my feet.
"Alright go ahead." Smiling, I kiss him on the cheek before going over to my luggage to grab an outfit, bypassing the now neatly made bed. Although the text from the previous night had put me on edge, it wasn't long til I fell asleep in Hunter's loving arms.
