Chapter 6: Silence

((Julie's POV))

It's been two days and I haven't said a word to Sasha. It's not that I'm avoiding her; I'm just too busy to deal with that situation. My sisters are 16 today and my brother is supposedly going to show up to see them. That is a whole different level of drama right there so Sasha's going to have to wait. I'm on my way home from school now so I can get changed for the party.

When I walked into the condo I saw Sasha sitting on the couch. She looked at me for a second and then back at the TV. Maybe I should say something ... No time. I need to get ready. I walked into my room to see Josh sitting on my bed. Great.

[Julie]: "What are you doing here!?" He always pops up for no logical reason.

[Josh]: "How else am I supposed to get to the party?"

[Julie]: "It doesn't matter because you're not going!"

[Josh]: "Like hell I'm not. You think I broke out for no reason?"

[Julie]: "You'll go back to jail."

[Josh]: "That's the plan. Did you think I wanted to be on the run forever?"

[Julie]: "Most fugitives do."

There's no point in arguing with this boy.

[Julie]: "Get out so I can change."

[Josh]: "Wait, what's going on between you and Sasha?"

[Julie]: "It's not important. Hurry up."

[Josh]: "Not until you tell me why you won't talk to her. She explained the whole closet thing to me but that can't be why you keep ignoring her."

Why the hell did she confide in Josh of all people?

[Julie]: "I just don't want to open that can of worms right now okay?"

[Josh]: "You only avoid shit that scares you Juels. What's going on?"

Ugh! How am I supposed to explain this!?

[Julie]: "Okay. I think I maybe kinda sort of liked getting intimate with Sasha. But there's no point in discussing that with her because I'm in love with Sean AND I'm straight. Nothing could happen between me and her."

[Josh]: "Are you sure about that?"

[Julie]: "Why wouldn't I be?"

[Josh]: "Because your eye twitched when you said it," he smirked, "and that usually means you're lying."

Ass ...

[Julie]: "Get the fuck out of my room before we're late!" I pushed him out of my door.

He laughed.

[Josh]: "You can't lie to yourself forever!"

[Julie]: "Fuck you bro!"

I changed my clothes quickly and walked out of my room. Sasha was going into hers. Our eyes met right before she closed her door. I feel like a terrible person! I could see the sadness she felt. Sasha is my best friend so why am I treating her so cold? I'll talk to her when I get back from this party.
