[Detective York]: "I need to speak with you about your sister, Sasha."
[Sam]: "What did she do?"
[York]: "It's a one on one conversation I need to have with you mam. Could you come to the station?"
[Sam]: "Um ok ... 805 Bedford Street?"
[York]: "Yes."
[Sam]: "Okay I'll be there in 20 minutes."

Chapter 17: Mi Corazón
((Sam's POV))
What did Sasha do? Why was there a cop looking for me? What could I possibly know that they need to hear? Ugh. It's almost 1 AM so it must be serious. I arrived at the police station. There were a few men in police uniforms standing outside.
[Sam]: "Are any of you Detective York?" They all shook their heads. One of them pointed to the door so I guess he must be in the station. I walked inside to see no one sitting at the front desk. There's no point in waiting so I went exploring. Most of the rooms were empty. Where is this guy?
I could hear crying in the distance. That can't be good. I followed it like a dumbass. Sasha always said that if I were in a horror movie, I would be the first one to die haha. I came to a room with an open door. That's definitely where the crying is coming from so I poked my head inside.
[Sam]: "Julie?" She looked at me with millions of emotion in her eyes. "What happened?" Before I got a response, she ran up to me and threw her arms around my neck.
[Julie]: "I'm so sorry Sam! I'm so sorry! Please forgive me for not keeping her safe!"
[Sam]: "Julie, what are you talking about?"
[Julie]: "Sasha's dead! She died trying to save me. I'm so sorry!" I moved her in front of me.
[Sam]: "Oh my God. My sister is dead? She's all I have! How can she be dead!?!?" She was crying so hard I couldn't understand what she was saying. "Julie slow down. Tell me what happened!"
[Julie]: "She got into it with Kate and they fought to the death."
[Sam]: "Who the hell is Kate?"
[Julie]: "Our psychotic roommate. I'm so so sorry Sam!"
[Sam]: "This can't be happening."
[Julie]: "Please don't be angry with me."
[Sam]: "Why would I be angry with you, sweetie?" I pulled her into a hug while my tears started falling. "Don't you ever blame yourself for someone else's mistakes, okay?"
As soon as I got Julie to stop crying, a man came up behind us.
[York]: "May I help you miss?"
[Sam]: "I'm looking for Detective York."
[York]: "That's me. Who are you?"
[Sam]: "Samantha Jones."
[York]: "Ah yes. I wanted you to come in to..."
[Sam]: "I already know Sasha's dead."
[York]: "Oh. Well uh ... do you think you can come to the morgue and ID her body?" I looked at Julie. I want her to come with me but I know she won't be able to handle it.
[Sam]: "Will you be okay by yourself?" She shook her head yes. "Alright. Call me, okay? And don't do anything stupid." I kissed her forehead and gave her another hug.
[Julie]: "Okay."
[York]: "I'll have someone bring you to a hotel."
[Julie]: "Thanks."
We followed Detective York outside. He brought Julie to another cop who would take her to a hotel. Then he directed me to follow him to the morgue in my car. I was crying the whole ride. It seemed like only depressing songs would come on the radio. How could this happen to my baby sister? She was supposed to be the one burying me. I guess I should tell dad but he probably won't care at all. No point in wasting his time...
We got to Greenwich Hospital within 15 minutes. It felt like forever. Detective York walked over to me as I got out of the car.
[York]: "Are you sure you're up for this?"
[Sam]: "I have to do it. There's no one else that will."
He nodded and led me inside. I kept close behind him while we made our way down some stairs. I guess he's trying to stall or something because the elevators are definitely working. It was about 3 floors down to the morgue. The closer we got, the colder I felt. We stopped in front of a window.
[York]: "Wait here." Detective York went in the room that I was looking into. He spoke with the woman inside. I couldn't make out what they were saying but I'm pretty sure he's asking her to bring Sasha out. I recognize her from when I came for my mom. I was so young then but she must of recognized me too. She looked at me and gave me a half of a smile. They continued talking until Detective York exited the room and stood next to me. "Are you ready?" I looked at him with the answer clear in my eyes. I looked back into the room. The lady was rolling a body into view. There was a sheet covering the face. My heart is pounding so hard that I'm afraid of having a heart attack. I grabbed onto my chest and took a deep breath. "Are you okay?" I looked at him again. He put an arm around my shoulders and signaled the woman to remove the sheet. I looked very closely at the face of the body ... oh my god.
((Detective York's POV))
I went to speak with the woman in charge of the morgue so she could bring Ms. Jones' body to the window.
[York]: "Hi, I'm Detective York. I was told a body involved in a homicide was brought here tonight around 11:45." She looked at Samantha through the window.
[Doctor]: "Why is Samantha Jones here?"
[York]: "You know each other?" She looked back at me.
[Doctor]: "Her mom died a few years ago. Her father wasn't exactly sympathetic so I was the one comforting her and her sister. The face she had that day is something I will never forget. So why is she here now?"
[York]: "That may be her sister that was brought in today."
[Doctor]: "Definitely not. I would have recognized her immediately. The only unidentified body we have tonight is someone I have never seen before."
[York]: "Well, let's hope for Samantha's sake that you're right." I went back out to the viewing area. "Are you ready?" No verbal response but I understood what she intended to say. The body was rolled out in front of us. Samantha looks like she's going to have a panic attack. "Are you okay?" She still can't speak. I wrapped my arm around her while I motioned the lady to remove the cloth from the body. Samantha got close to the glass and stared for a while.
[Sam]: "That's not my sister."
