Chapter l Ten

My cousin helped steadied me and then pulled me into her side closer. 

"Thanks" I said

"What a jerk, at least apologise " she said while peering over her shoulder and staring ahead.

I thought about how the boy I just bumped into, just happened to be Lyde, his eyes usually take my breath away. His stare was already intense, so the green of his eyes did not make things any better, it was as if he we're a predator stalking his prey, almost...like a wolf.

"are you okay Lil's?" Daisy asked me

"Uhh, yeah I am good, things happen it was not just him-" getting cut off by her, I gave myself a once over barely listening to what she said next,

"Umm girl, even a small sorry could of at least been said, he did not even offer to check if you we're okay, then again he has always been like that",

I shrugged, "he might of been in a rush" I replied,

"Still Lil's, even rushing you can still have manners" she said matter of factly in her tone,

I sighed to myself, I could not help but also look over my shoulder to check, but I was blocked by my cousin. 

"He is not worth it girl" she stood in front of me, obstructing my view,

"that...by the way is you know Lyde, school's most beloved prized possession" she air quoted with her fingers, 

"like literally the boy screams 'athleticism', it is like the Greeks decided to take their time with that one in ensuring he is the top of all rounder in sports, pretty much since intermediate", she sighed

"Like come on, super human or what, no one and I mean no one can run that fast or jump that damn high, let alone catch and friggin throw further than most pro athletes do, these days" she said in one BIG breath,

"just like another twilight romcom" I added

My cousin and I shared the same stare before we bellowed out in a fit of laughter. 

"and that he happens to be my partner for our study paper, which reminds me Spencer asked me if I can tutor him for extra study" I added

"You don't mind if i tag along in your study classes Lil's, I could use some extra help too" Daisy asked,

"Sure" I said

"I did not know that Lyde was your partner in class, what's your guys topic about" stated Daisy,

"Wolves" I added,  

"Alright my girl, the office is right there" she pointed and I followed her gaze and also her instructions. 

"I will be right here when you are done" Daisy added,

I nodded and made my way to reception,

"Welcome, can I assist you in anything?" the secretary said with a sweet sickly voice, that kind of made my ears hurt from the pitch of her voice. Her name, as I observed her tag read 'Susan', 'well you do look like a Susan', I thought to myself
