Eva's POV
We had taken Timmy to one of the upstairs rooms with a single bed. I had stayed with him for most of the time, only leaving his side to go to the toilet or get a drink. Niall would bring up food from the kitchen - turns out they had quite a lot in their kitchen so we thought it would be fine to stay here for more than just a couple of days.
We had been here for 4 days now. I slept in the room next to Timmy's which also had a single bed and Niall in the room across from mine. Niall and I had had a few moments but nothing had really happened - I could tell he was true to his word about waiting for me. I wasn't really sure when to make any sort of move because I felt as if I'd be cheating Timmy. Like he'd feel I had all my attention on Niall and none on him.
Timmy woke up the day after the incident and he was in quite a lot of pain that second day. It's been dying down ever since thankfully.
I was sat next to Timmy whilst he talked to me about his favourite trains as Niall walked in.
"Hey buddy, are you feeling any better"? He asked and Timmy nodded his head.
"A little but I don't think I'm going to be able to walk." He said nervously.
"Don't worry Tim, we're not gonna make you for a while"! Niall rubbed Timmy's head playfully. "I just need to borrow Eva for a few minutes."
I looked at Timmy and he smiled at me so I stood up and told him I'd be back in a minute.
I followed Niall down the stairs and into the kitchen where he turned to me and began to explain. I had no idea what to expect.
"So I've been looking at the map" he gestured to the map spread out on the table "and I noticed that there is a supermarket nearby."
"What are you saying"? I asked, not entirely sure where this was going.
"Eva, I'm gonna just say it" he paused "we've run out of food."
I stared at him and I could tell he was hoping I wouldn't get mad. I walked over to the fridge and looked inside - he was right, there was nothing.
"And I was thinking that maybe I go out and get to the supermarket. I'll get us all as much food as possible and come back." He explained.
"Niall, do you really think I'm just gonna let you wander out to the shop in a zombie apocalypse"? I asked and he fidgeted.
"Well...yes."
"No" I said plainly and he looked up at me.
"Babe, what other choice do we have"? He asked. "We have three mouths to feed - and may I remind you that one is a seven year old who can't walk"!
"It's just too risky though, you've seen it out there"! I exclaimed and he looked out of the window.
"We are basically killing ourselves if I don't go out there though. There is no point in starving ourselves in here hoping that the apocalypse is magically going to end when we actually have a chance of getting needed supplies"! He was using all different hand gestures to get his point across and I just stood and listened.
"But-" he shushed me.
"No buts Eva, I'm doing this." He said sternly.
"I'm going to get my rucksack." Niall said as he went up the stairs. Niall had recently found a whole load of stuff in his room he was sleeping in, such as: clothes, shoes, a rucksack, a torch and medical needs. He had also stocked up on weapons like knives.
