Liam's POV (finally!)

They all exited the car and I watched them enter the shopping centre. Timmy looked at me and grinned.

"What"? I asked and couldn't help smiling myself at his cute expression.

"Shit"! He shouted at the top of his lungs. My eyes widened as I looked at him and shock.

"Tim, you should not say words like that! They are very mean and hurtful." I shook my head.

He seemed surprised at my sudden harshness but it was the only way he was going to learn.

"Oh, sorry. It's just...I heard Louis saying it yesterday. And he said fuck."

"Don't say that word either! You must ignore some of the words that Louis uses because they are extremely rude." I explained.

"Then why does he say them"? He looked confused.

"He doesn't mean to. It's just that sometimes things happen that make him feel frustrated or cross and he just comes out with them."

"Oh OK. I won't say them, Liam."

"Good. Just ignore him when he says things like that." I sighed and leant back in my seat.

There was silence for a while and I rested my eyes.

I've got a fire for a heart,
I'm not scared of the dark,
You've never seen it look so easy.
I've got a river for a soul,
And baby you're a boat,
Baby you're my only reason.

My eyes snapped open and I looked at Tim. He was grinning wildly. He was holding our Drag Me Down single in his hands.

"Where'd you get that"? I asked and he gestured to the glovebox.

"The person who used to have this car must've liked One Direction"! He laughed and I laughed with him.

After Louis' part had finished my solo came on and I sang along.

All my life...you stood by me,
When no one else was ever behind me,
All these lights...they can't blind me,
With your love...nobody can drag me down.

Niall's part then came on and we both sang at the top of our voices. Laughing all the while.

I loved spending time with Tim. I was with him more than anyone these days and he honestly felt like a brother to me by now. He was different to any seven year old boy I'd ever come across before and that's why I loved him.

It broke my heart to know he had lost his father - especially when he cried about it. It'd been rough for him the last couple of weeks but I had always tried to be there when he needed me.

I was aware his birthday was coming up soon and I wasn't sure what we could do for it. I wanted to give him a birthday to remember and not just because it was his first during an apocalypse.

My phone began to ring and I turned the music down. I swiped to answer it. I read Niall's name on the screen and held it up to my ear.

"Hello"?

"Hi, it's Niall."

"Hey, what's up"? I asked. Niall sounded pretty calm so I wasn't that worried.

"We need you to come in to the shopping centre. It's pretty clear so there's no great threat. We thought we could all get new clothes and such." He explained.

"Sounds good. Where are you"?

"Go to Sports Direct" he said.

"OK, see you in a minute."
