The Sign

Eva's POV

We had all agreed to go off in groups and browse for a couple of hours for a proper break from reality.

I went with Niall, Liam took Timmy and Freya went with them, and Harry and Louis went together.

Niall and I walked in the direction of the sweet shop. I guess we missed our little luxuries.

We entered and looked around at the array of colourful confectionary.

"What do you like"? Niall asked.

"Strawberry flavoured chocolate or sweets"! I replied immediately.

"Good choice." Niall walked over to the corner where he grabbed a pot. He brought it over and handed it to me.

"For the fair maiden" he bowed and I laughed.

"Thank you kind sir"! He had handed me a pot of strawberry flavoured sweets.

"Niall, close your eyes and open your mouth"! I exclaimed and he looked at me quizzically.

"What"? He did it anyway and I took one of those incredibly sugary strawberry twirls. The amount of sugar on it was ridiculous.

I stuffed it all into his mouth all at once and he gagged. He began coughing and I couldn't stop laughing at him.

"What was that for"?

"Nothing. Just thought it'd be funny"! I replied.

"Oh you're gonna get it Darlington"! He grinned as he looked around the shop.

I rolled my eyes and went to the counter at the back end of the shop. There was a stereo in the corner and I switched it on.

Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud came on and I started to sing. I felt Niall's eyes on me and I couldn't help but smile.

I sang the chorus and turned around to face him. We slow danced for a while just staring into each other's eyes deeply. I felt the strong connection.

He sang with me the last chorus and then put his hands over my eyes, telling me to keep them closed. I did as I was told as I listened to the last part of the song.

I stood there with my lips slightly parted, ready for the worst sweet ever to enter my mouth.

I waited a few seconds until I felt something touch my lips. It wasn't a sweet.

Soft lips touched mine ever so lightly before pushing fully to connect with them. Niall kissed ever so softly, it was beautiful.

Oh maybe we found love right where we are,

Ed trailed off and Niall pulled away.

I opened my eyes slowly to see Niall come into my vision. He was looking serious.

"Niall, what was-" I was cut off when he lifted a finger to my lips.

"Shh. Eva, listen." He paused to gather his thoughts but he never took his blue sparkling eyes off of mine. "You know I'm ready. But I know you need more time and like I said I'll wait. I'll always be here for you, baby."

"Niall"

"You just need to tell me when you want to do this."

"Niall"

"I know that you're scared and I get that. It's hard to like someone like this and at this sort of time in your life."

"Niall"

"And I just think-" I cut him off this time.

I leant in quickly and gave him a short, sweet kiss on the lips.

I pulled away and said "I'm ready"

His face lit up more than I'd ever seen it before, if that was even possible.

"Are you sure"? He asked.

"I'm sure, this is me telling you Niall. This is your sign...finally."

He took my face in his hands and kissed me.
