The Escape

A/N: This ones short but don't worry because we are gonna meet Niall...YAY!

Eva's POV

I helped Timmy into the cars passenger seat and belted him in. I placed his rucksack in front of his legs in case we had to make a quick getaway. I then walked around and got in myself. I opened my bag and reached over to the glovebox. In there were One Direction's Up All Night, Take Me Home, Midnight Memories and Four albums along with Ed Sheeran's new album.

I worked past them and reached for the map. I put it into my rucksack.

"Hey Tim, I have a surprise for you"! I cheered.

"What is it"? He asked intently.

I then pulled out a packet of Maoams and a packet of Gummy Bears from the side pocket of the car. I always kept snacks for a long car journey.

"Gummy Bears"! He exclaimed, reaching for the packet.

"I guess they're yours then"! I laughed.

He began to attempt to open the packet. "No Tim, its for emergencies"!

He huffed as he put them in his rucksack. I put my Maoams in my bag and threw it in the back. I started the engine and a load of walkers in front of us looked our way.

I pulled out of the driveway and started to drive out of the town.

We drove back towards the countryside where I was attacked earlier that day. It was the right way and our best bet of making it alive. Tim was incredibly distressed as the walkers kept approaching his window. I couldn't comfort him as I was driving but I squeezed his hand tightly every so often to calm him down a little.

We got out of town rather quickly and got into the countryside. As far as I could see there were no walkers. I got out the map and layed it on the wheel as the car slowly trundled along the road.

"OK so we are...here..." I pointed to the spot on the map and Timmy looked closely.

"...and we wanna get to here..." I pointed at the other spot and sighed.

"OK so it may be a few more miles than I expected"!

"Eva..." Timmy said, hardly above a whisper. I ignored him as I was trying to figure out the best route to take to get there.

"Eva"! Timmy said a little louder now.

"Sweetie not now, I'm trying to figure this out." I stared closely at the map. I still had my foot lightly on the accelerator so we were still moving at a gentle pace on the long straight road.

"EVA LOOK"! He shouted and I lowered the map.

There, in the distance, was a blonde man running out of the trees screaming for help. I couldn't see any walkers until nine or ten emerged from the trees hot on his tail. I then realised that there were more behind them - a massive group.

"SHIT"! I shouted. I fumbled with the map and threw it at Timmy. "Hold onto this"!

I pushed my foot hard on the accelerator and the car sped towards the man. He saw us and waved for us to stop.

I was close now so I told Timmy to reach and unlock the door closest to the man. Timmy rolled down the window at my command. I slowed to a walking pace and shouted to him.

"GET IN"! He didn't think twice and opened the door and jumped in. The walkers were close now but my car was fast. We sped away down the road.

I swerved many walkers as we continued for about five minutes until we got to a smooth road and there were none in sight.

"Thanks for saving me back there, I was almost dinner"! The stranger thanked.

It was strange, his accent was familiar. I felt like I knew him. I looked in the mirror at the man. Niall. Niall Horan.
