To all my lovely friends who asked questions in the last few chapters, your answers are sprinkled all over this author's note. So do read it all, you may never know where your answer is.

Also, there's some trivia and fun facts about the story too.

Hey friends!!

How are you? Finally this story is finished... daamnnn... five years... I can't believe myself. I must be the first and only author on Wattpad to take whole damn five years to complete a book.😂

But I'm glad I could finish this. For a person like me, it's indeed a big thing.

It's certainly not a very easy journey for me. Though I never thought of dropping this story, there were many such times when there was zero motivation to me and I pushed myself to write the chapters, even if I took my own time.

I paid the cost of it too. I lost my precious readers due to the gap, voters, commenters... I lost most of them. But you can't do much when literally so much is going on in your personal life.

There was a time when I was a little insecure too, asking why am I not getting the response I was expecting I would get or seeing how some of my contemporaries were getting it. When you have this belief in yourself that whatever you've created still has substance in it and it's not too ordinary for sure, it becomes difficult to accept, it becomes difficult to settle for less. It hurts a lot, seriously... But then I put the blame of everything on my inconsistency and moved on.

Yes, thankfully I moved on from that short phase of my life. Now I'm content with the way Sapno Ka Shaher is shaped, happy with the voters and commenters I still have with me right now. There's immense gratitude in me for all those people who stayed, who believed in my story and who chose to show up with votes and be vocal with comments rather than remaining a silent reader.

I'm so so so grateful to you all.... Really, it means a lot to me...

But it's not that I only lost things in these five years. I actually gained a lot more than that.

I gained more wisdom than before due to the happenings in my personal life. I studied script writing, novel writing, nuances of how to build a scene, how to shape a plot, I improved my vocabulary.... So many things...

When I learnt that my first ever story 'Ummeedein' was a perfect example of a 'Three-Act Structure' in script writing when I knew nothing about it back then, I couldn't be more proud of myself.

In this period, I also read a lot, both online and offline. It gave me insight into different styles of writing. The two short stories 'Thinking of You' and 'Surrendering Completely' that I completed in this time period were the outcome of when I learnt how to write in first person's pov style. Both in past tense and present tense.

So if you are a late reader and have binge-read SKS, you must have noticed my writing style evolving much as the chapters progressed. I won't comment on whether it was better or not. But I evolved as a writer for sure.

Being a writer, there's always a reflection of you somewhere in your work. Yupp, SKS too has my personality, my thoughts, my mindset, my opinions on certain things... everything sprinkled all over the chapters. So you must figure out what kind of person I'm through SKS. 😉

Sometimes, a writer's work is also adorned with inspiration from his/her favorite piece of work. I'm not an exception here. Some of the lines in some chapters are inspired by my favorite movies, or authors or personalities. Like Zakir Khan, I have used his quotes while talking about men and during Aditya's speech during his engagement.
