Charlie knocked on the front door leisurely, it was ten at night and he didn't know if anyone was awake. Tabitha slowly pulled the door open, her eyes wide. She blinked her eyes sleepy. When she saw Charlie she hurriedly stepped outside and closed the door silently. 'Hi.' Tabitha said awkwardly, she blushed. Their bodies were touching slightly. The porch was narrow. They had no choice but to be pressed up against each other. Charlie gazed down to Tabitha and smiled slightly, she made him smile. He ran his hand through his hair. Tabitha admired how hot he looked.
'I wondered if you wanted to go this party that's happening.' Charlie let his breath go. He laughed at himself slightly. 'Sorry I can't form my words.' Tabitha smirked and looked back to her house. She thought about how her dad was pissed. She turned back to Charlie and smiled fully.
'Yes, I do want to go.' Tabitha slipped into the house and grabbed her shoes. Her feet were cold because of the cold air from the winter air. She pulled the spare key from the key hook and it dinged. She closed the door silently behind her. 'Sorry. I look a mess.' Charlie shook his head. Tabitha looked to him and followed him down the drive.
'No you don't.' He unlocked his truck and they jumped in quickly. Tabitha hoped her dad was asleep and wouldn't realise she was gone. Charlie started up the truck. He pulled away from the house and began driving down the road.
Tabitha looked around his truck. It was quite messy. There was food wrappers scattered on the floor, a few even on the dashboard. Charlie coughed and caught Tabitha's attention. Tabitha turned to him and watched him concentrating on the road. 'You weren't in English today.' Charlie pointed out, adjusting his hands on the wheel.
'We have English together?' Tabitha asked. She wondered how he knew that. He looked over to her for a second and nodded. Charlie quickly looked back to the dark road. Tabitha leaned her arm of the ledge of the small window of the truck.
'The teacher asked us why you weren't there.' Tabitha smiled to herself and moved a piece of hair that had dropped to her face.
'The truth?' Tabitha questioned. Charlie nodded his head, keeping his eyes on the road. 'I got suspended for a day.' Charlie pulled up to a house. He killed the engine.
'Why?' He asked turning to her. They could hear the music from the truck. People were outside as well as inside.
'I hit a guy...' Tabitha looked out of the window. '...that guy.' Charlie turned too looked where Tabitha was now pointing. He saw Richard with his black eyes. Girls were swooning around him. Charlie turned to Tabitha. Tabitha looked at him as he smirked.
'This is his party.' Tabitha pulled a face.
'Shit. Better go apologise.' Tabitha hopped out of the truck, slamming the door. She strolled around to Charlie. Richard glanced over and began pouting.
Tabitha approached Richard cautiously. Richard sighed. 'Going to punch me again?' Richard smirked a little. Tabitha shook her head and laughed at his sarcasm.
'I got suspended.' Tabitha was agitated by Richard's ignorance. Charlie walked up next to Tabitha and gave a little friendly wave to Richard.
'Good!' Richard exclaimed spitefully. Tabitha looked offended. Her blood was boiling inside; she wanted to punch him again.
'No, it's not good. It wasn't even my fault! It was self defence.' Tabitha shouted at the top of her voice. A few heads turned to see what the commotion was. She stepped closer to Richard. Tabitha breathed heavily at Richard. He has a lot of nerve.
'Self defence?' Charlie asked Tabitha, pulling her away from the now pouting Richard. Tabitha met his eyes. She searched in his eyes. She wanted the answer to what was going on through his mind. She didn't know what would happen next. Tabitha gulped and prepared for the worst.
'He was grabbing me.' Charlie shook his head slowly. He turned his head to Richard and glared at him.
Tabitha walked inside the raging house. People were in every direction. The music was loud, it pounded into her ears. The smell of smoke and alcohol entered her nose. She didn't mind it, it soothed her. Lights were flashing different colours, the cheap ones you get and place anywhere. Charlie grabbed her hand. Tabitha's senses tingled, she didn't pull away. Charlie pulled her over the room and stopped in front of a boy. The boy smiled cunningly at Tabitha. He had flowing brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes. 'Hi.' He shouted. 'You must be Tabitha.' He smiled and pulled her in for a hug. He held her tightly. Tabitha had no choice other than to hold him back, she hugged back. He put his mouth to her ear. 'Name's Lou.' Tabitha smiled and he pulled away.
Charlie looked to Tabitha and began admiring her beauty, her beautiful dark brown, curly hair. Tabitha turned to him. He caught her eye. He loved her green eyes, so mystical; they could hold the answer to life. His pupils flickered, searching for something. He loved her. He couldn't tell her that, they had barely even known each other three seconds. He shook the thought from his mind. He knew if he went to fast with her he'd scare her off, then he would be alone forever. If only she knew his need for her.
George surveyed around the room. He stopped when he saw her. The back of her head. He just knew it was her immediately. George smiled to himself, then the tall boy next to her grabbed his hand and entwined his fingers with hers. That wiped the smile from his face. George charged over. He tapped Tabitha's shoulder. She spun around, letting go of the boy's hand. It took a second for Tabitha to register who she was looking at. When she finally did she threw her arms around him. 'George.' Charlie and Lou exchanged a look. Tabitha pulled away and smiled. Tabitha looked at the boys behind her and then looked back to George. 'This is Charlie.' Tabitha pointed to him and they shook hands quickly. 'And this is Lou.' Lou shook his hand and smiled awkwardly.
'Nice to meet you both.' George shouted over the music. Charlie and Lou nodded. George passed Tabitha the drink he was holding and Tabitha downed it.
'Steady on.' Charlie said with a hint of laughter in his voice.
As the night wore on Tabitha had more and more fun. Before she knew it the time was one. She couldn't find Charlie anywhere, or George either. But she did find Lou. He was chatting to a girl wearing just hot pants and a vest top. Tabitha thought she was insane considering the weather outside. Tabitha tapped him and the shoulder and smiled kindly. 'Hey, can I have a lift home?' Lou smiled at her and turned to the girl. He said goodbye and nodded at Tabitha. Sexy isn't he. Wouldn't mind me a piece of that. Tabitha smirked. It was as if the voice had its own thoughts and feelings.
The air outside was cold, freezing even. Lou saw she was cold and passed her his jacket. She looked up to him. 'You don't have to.' Lou smiled. The jacket smelled musky, musky but nice. It smelt of boy. Tabitha tried not to laugh at herself for the description of the jackets smell in her head, it was a bit stupid.
'You're cold and to be honest I never get cold newbie.' Tabitha laughed.
'You guys in Canada aren't very good at picking nicknames are you?' Lou laughed at her and pointed to a small car that was sat just down the road. Tabitha nodded and followed him to it.
Tabitha quietly entered the house. She walked into the living room to settle down and sleep. She thought instead of making a racket she would sleep downstairs on the warm sofa. Instead of finding an empty living room she found Smith glaring at her as she looked down to the sofa. He sat up from his slouched and sleepy position on the sofa. 'Tabitha, you are out of order.' He tried to sound stern but Tabitha could tell he was tired.
'What?' She knew not to push her luck but she couldn't help it. She was being patronised.
'You are grounded and you go out?' He stood up and looked down at her. He made her feel small, useless. She could feel his heat, his blood boiling. 'I let you come here, I let you come and live with me and this is how you repay me? You get suspended on your first day and you don't listen to me. I ground you and you bloody go out!' He shouted. Tabitha whimpered. 'Now if you get into trouble one more time I am kicking you out.'
Tabitha gulped.
