RETURN THE LOVE {Chapter Eleven}

Chris grabbed Tabitha's hand and admired her smile. She was wearing a black, loose dress and high black heels which brought her to his height. He was wearing black, skin tight jeans and a white shirt. He looked smart and she looked like a streetwalker, or at least in her mind she did. He pulled a cardigan over her shoulders and opened the door. The cold air greeted them. 'Are you sure you don't want to change?' Tabitha nodded quickly and stepped outside. It was dark, nearly pitch black. Only the street lights lit the street in front of them.

Tabitha climbed into the car and removed her heels. Chris climbed into the passengers side. Tabitha immediately switched the car on and fiddled with the air conditioning buttons, turning them up to the full amount of heat. 'I told you it was freezing over here.' Tabitha said pulling out of the drive.

'And I believed you.' Chris opened the dashboard and pulled out a police badge. 'This yours?' Tabitha giggled and he laughed back at her. Tabitha had never been so happy. Smith had even welcomed Chris to stay. He had surprised her greatly. It was not like Smith at all.

Tabitha pulled up to Lou's house. He had sent her a text earlier on in the day saying he was having a few friends around. Tabitha wanted to see him so much, but she was only worried that Charlie would be there. Chris jumped out but Tabitha didn't move. Chris walked around and opened her door. 'Were you waiting for me to open the door?' Tabitha laughed and climbed out, slamming the door shut once she was out.

'No. I was just thinking.' Chris held his hand out and Tabitha looked down to it. She linked her fingers with his. His hand was warm but it wasn't special to her. Holding Charlie's hand felt special. Tabitha sighed as she thought of Charlie. He'd be inside.

They walked in and it wasn't as crowded as Tabitha thought it would be, it wasn't like any other parties she had been to, they had been crowded. The music was loud and most of the room was filled with people but you could still walk around easily.

Tabitha spotted Lou and let go of Chris' hand. She ran over and chucked her arms around him. Lou smiled and hugged back. He leaned his head on her shoulder. Chris strolled over and watched them. Tabitha pulled away. 'I've missed you.' Lou put his arm around her and pulled her away from Harry, who he was talking to before, and Chris.

'What's going on with you and Charlie?' Tabitha looked to him and leaned in to talk to him. Then he would be able to hear her. He took a sip of his drink.

'What makes you ask that?' Tabitha said taking his drink and taking a big gulp of it. Lou took it back and laughed at her.

'Well when I asked him if he was coming over he asked if you were coming. So when I said yes you were he just said no. You were fine before you went to England.' Tabitha took his arm off of her.

'Try and talk some sense into him please. He bloody fought Chris because Chris thought Charlie had abused me or something.' Lou looked at her seriously. Tabitha shot him a look to say 'ask no more'. Lou smiled at her briefly. 'Go and get me a drink?' Tabitha said in her sweet voice. Lou shook his head slowly and walked off.

Tabitha turned around and walked over to Chris and Harry. 'Hi Harry.' Tabitha said standing over to them. Chris grabbed her around the waist and pulled over. He kissed her cheek, making Tabitha go red. She kissed his lips quickly and let him hold her around the waist.

Lily walked through the door and looked around for someone she knew. When she saw Tabitha her eyes lit up. She ran over and nearly pushed Tabitha over. Tabitha hugged her back tightly. Tabitha put her head on her shoulder. Lily let go reluctantly. She squealed a little. 'I thought you were moving back to England.' Lily turned to Chris and smiled. 'You brought a boy?' Tabitha laughed at her and nodded.

'This is Chris.' Lily shook his hand and kept smiling at him. Lily turned to Tabitha and pointed to her hand, Tabitha looked down at it.

'You don't have a drink.' As if on cue Lou waltzed over to them and handed Tabitha the drink. Tabitha smiled and thanked him. Lou stuck his arm around Tabitha and smiled at Chris. He did look a little agitated that it wasn't him with his arm around Tabitha but they weren't in a relationship so why would it annoy him? 'Are you going to school tomorrow?' Tabitha laughed at her. 'They are getting really annoyed with you considering that you got excluded and then you weren't there for most of this week being in England.'

'I suppose I should go considering Smith will kick me out if I don't get on track. Exams are coming up aren't they?' Lou nodded and mumbled something. He removed his arm and finished off his drink.

'I'm going to see Aaron.' He waved and headed off across the crowded room. Tabitha walked over to Chris and gave him a quick kiss. Chris licked his lips.

'Don't get jealous baby.' Chris laughed and shook his head in reply.

Tabitha stumbled. Lily held her up and laughed. Chris was talking to Aaron somewhere and Tabitha had drank too much. Lily had drank too much too. They were falling and giggling to each other. Lily leaned into Tabitha's ear. 'Is he good in bed?' Tabitha giggled again and nodded.

Tabitha got another drink and drank it quickly. She was dizzy and light headed. Chris walked over and she stumbled. He caught her. 'Careful there.' Tabitha laughed at him and chucked her shoes onto the floor. Chris picked them up.

'Why aren't you drunk?' Tabitha asked Chris, pining for him to hold her. Chris shook his head.

'Because I'm driving.' Tabitha laughed and hugged him. Lily began to pull her away to go dance.

'I'll see you later.' Tabitha shouted at Chris. He admired her and just laughed to himself. She was plastered and he'd have to take her home to her dad like that.

Chris had been looking for Tabitha for a half hour and he had no luck. The last time he saw her was with Lily about two hours before. Chris spotted Lou and ran over. He tapped him on the shoulder and Lou span around, smiling warmly at Chris. 'Have you seen Tabitha?' Lou shook his head.

'Why? Wasn't she with Lily?' Chris scanned the room and looked back to Lou.

'She was about two hours ago but now I just can't find her. I can't even find Lily?' Lou thought for a moment before clicking his finger and pointing upstairs.

'Try my room. Lily normally ends up sleeping there.' Chris thanked him and jogged up the stairs.

Tabitha stumbled up to the door of the one floored apartment. She had no shoes and just a tight, thin dress. The path was clear from snow but still cold. She knocked her knuckle against the door and heard someone murmur.

Charlie stood up and sighed, who would be at the door that late at night. Charlie fumbled around with the keys and finally got the right one. He unlocked the door slowly and the opened it. Tabitha was stood there. She was barely dressed. 'Tabitha where the hell are your shoes?' Charlie asked looking down at her feet. She wriggled her toes and shrugged.

'I think Chris has them.' She managed. Charlie stepped out of the house and looked around for Chris, he then gazed back to Tabitha.

'Where is he?' Tabitha shrugged and thought for a moment. Charlie pulled Tabitha into the house. 'Why are you here?' Tabitha looked up to him. With her heels on she could have been chest height but she felt small once again. Tabitha had sobered up a little on the way there. She knew what she was doing there. She needed Charlie. She needed him to hold her close and tell her everything was alright. She felt like he was the only one she could open up to. There was a...connection.

Tabitha searched in his eyes but didn't answer. 'Kiss me.' She said abruptly. Charlie didn't move. He was confused.

'What?' He said. Tabitha stepped closer. She stared up at him.

'Kiss me Charlie...' She was distant. Charlie could smell the alcohol on her. He wondered if it was her talking or the drink. Charlie didn't care. He quickly leaned down and crushed his lips against Tabitha's.

Tabitha stood on the top of her toes and put her arms around his neck. Charlie pulled her up and put her back to the wall, he legs wrapped around his waist and they continued to kiss. Tabitha was getting the numb feeling all over and she loved it. Charlie was kissing her.
