The title appeared on the screen:
Percy Jackson: The Titan's Curse
Immediately, every god spoke a single name with disdain.
"Kronos!"
"Is this next movie going to be about that bastard's counterpart putting a curse on my niece? How dare he?!" Zeus yelled furiously.
Poseidon silently seethed at the thought of that damned Titan placing a curse on his daughter.
I'll fucking kill that bastard's counterpart, he thought.
The title changed again:
My Rescue Operation Goes Very Wrong
The new title made everyone pause.
"So my niece is going to rescue someone, but who?" Hades asked curiously.
"Maybe Anthony or Grover gets kidnapped," Shiva suggested.
"But what will go wrong with the rescue?" Artemis added.
The screen began to play:
The Friday before winter break, my mom packed me an overnight bag and a few deadly weapons and took me to a new boarding school. We picked up my friends Anthony and Thalia on the way.
"It seems there is a time skip," Odin observed.
"Oh, I'm so happy my niece is already friends with my daughter!" Zeus exclaimed happily.
"Heh, I find it funny that her mom packs her deadly weapons," Buddha said with a chuckle.
It was an eight-hour drive from New York to Bar Harbor, Maine. Sleet and snow pounded the highway. Anthony, Thalia, and I hadn't seen each other in months, but between the blizzard and the thought of what we were about to do, we were too nervous to talk much. Except for my mom. She talks more when she's nervous. By the time we finally got to Westover Hall, it was getting dark, and she'd told Anthony and Thalia every embarrassing baby story there was to tell about me.
Everyone immediately looked interested, even Poseidon at the mention of Percy's embarrassing baby story.
Thalia wiped the fog off the car window and peered outside. 'Oh, yeah. This'll be fun.'
Realizing there would be no embarrassing baby stories in the scene, everyone looked disappointed.
"C'mon! Are we not going to hear any of her baby stories?!" Loki complained.
Westover Hall looked like an evil knight's castle. It was all black stone, with towers and slit windows and a big set of wooden double doors. It stood on a snowy cliff overlooking this big frosty forest on one side and the gray churning ocean on the other.
"Looks like your kind of place, eh, brother?" Zeus teased with a grin, glancing at Hades before looking toward Beelzebub.
Both Hades and Beelzebub gave him flat, unimpressed stares.
'Are you sure you don't want me to wait?' my mother asked.
'No, thanks, Mom,' I said. 'I don't know how long it will take. We'll be okay.'
'But how will you get back? I'm worried, Percy.'
Rhea, Hera, Leto, and Hestia felt a warmth in their hearts at Sally's concern for her daughter.
I hoped I wasn't blushing. It was bad enough I had to depend on my mom to drive me to my battles.
At the sight of her blush, Poseidon, Hades, Beelzebub, Apollo, Thor, Loki, and Buddha found themselves momentarily stunned, though none of them realized it.
