I Don't Know If I Should Stay Away [Teen Romance]

Chapter 6

After we had finished eating, Kyle and I headed towards the park. Once we got to the park I glanced up at him and looked down quickly. He really didn't look like the kind to enjoy coming to parks, so the fact he brought us here was surprising to me.

We slowly began to walk towards the swings, he took the one on the right and I took the one on the left. As I began swinging myself I glanced towards him and asked "So is there a reason why we came to the park?" He chuckled and looked down "Umm not really I just enjoy to see kids living their childhood happily." My heartstrings were tugged at his confessions and I didn't know what to say. I think he knew that I was left speechless and he laughed, then with an amused grin he looked into my eyes and said "I'm not as coldhearted as people think Alice. People just put an image of me as a cold hearted person and they don't even bother to remember that I'm human." I smiled at him and asked "Why are you telling me this?" "I don't know." He said with a frown as if he too was wondering why he was telling me this. He sighed and got up going behind my swing then started pushing me. After a while he stopped swinging me and in a hushed tone said "we should probably go back." I nodded my head and stood up from the swing and we began to walk back to his bike.

When we got back to the school the last bell had rand signaling that it was time to go home. He turned his head to look at me and with a smile he told me "Should I take you home then?" I laughed and with a smile on my face I nodded my head saying "Well only if you insist." He chuckled and put his hand on my thigh giving it a tight squeeze "Okay then tell me where you live."

When we got to my house I got of the bike and handed him the helmet "Thanks for an amazing day Kyle." He smiled down at me and nodded. "Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow, and tomorrow we will stay at school no matter what you say okay?" he laughed and said "Okay, okay. Jeez I just wanted to have a little fun." "Well we did have fun but we also have to keep up with school and not get side tracked because oh my god Kyle that is so wr-" "okay Alice I get it we will stay at school tomorrow but stop rambling your making me nervous." He said with a chuckle. I glanced up at him apologetically "Sorry I didn't realize I was rambling." He laughed and grabbed my hand "So listen, I was actually kind of wondering if maybe Friday you wanted to go on a date with me, you know just to get to know each other a little better?" I looked at him wide eyed and slowly nodded my head "Y-yea sure. Ummm y-yea." His smile widened even more and pecked my cheek "Great I'll see you tomorrow." I nodded my head and he got on his bike and drove off.

When I walked into my house it was extremely quiet which is kind of weird seeing as there is always a radio or a T.V playing. I walked into the kitchen and saw a note on the kitchen island

Hey honey I had been called into work so I will be working a little late also dad will be home around 6, I should be back before then, but if I'm not dinner is in the fridge. Love always mom xx

Well then, I guess I'll just go upstairs. As I made my way upstairs I had gotten a message on my phone.

Kyle:

Did you get in okay?

Me:

Yea, yea I got in fine. Although my mom isn't home so I'll have to wait for her and my dad to get home so yea. Boooo .

Kyle:

Awwww don't frown beautiful, I'm sure your parents will be there in no time.

Me:

yea I guess it's just that well, my house always has some type of noise, and having it quiet right now is kind of weird and scary, especially since it's a new house.

Kyle:

Oh no baby don't open any closets, and don't look under the bed there could be something in the house with you.

Me:

Kyle shut up!!!! It's not funny these things scare me

Kyle:

I never told you this but something happened in your house and that is why the people who lived there sold it.

Me:

Stop lying Kyle it's not funny

Kyle:

I'm not lying love.

Me:

Goodbye Kyle

Kyle:

Don't say goodbye how will I know if something happened to you, or if the ghost attacked you?

Me:

Haha nope it's not going to get me alone because my mom just got home. :p

Kyle:

Haha okay then ill txt you later.

When we were sitting down at the dinner table later that night, my mom and dad were talking to each other about work and I thought it would be a good time to tell my parents that I will be going on a date Friday night. I cleared my throat to catch their attention, they both turned to look at me and with a smile I told them "So umm I have a date Friday night." My mom's eyes glistened with excitement and with a huge smile she said "That is great honey, what is his name?" I looked at her and with a hesitant tone I said "His name is Kyle Reed" I looked up and met her eyes as she dropped her fork and it clattered with the plate "What?" she asked in a hushed whisper.
