'What's going on? What happened? Where am I?' I opened my eyes slowly before the flashes of my spell returned to me and I shot up, panicked. Only, I didn't see what I was expecting, instead of the charred woods, I was back in the base, the entire team around me covered in concern. "What the..." "Y/N!" I was immediately tackled by Asta, and it was swiftly followed up by a barrage of questions from my team mates. "What happened!?" "Who hurt you!?" "What's that mark!?" I didn't pay much attention to what was said, as I was a bit overwhelmed, but Finral asking about a mark definitely piqued my interest. "What mark?" Gauche made a mirror appear in front of me and I looked at myself, seeing a symbol along my collar bone. It was like a flame inside a crown, or maybe a halo? It was a blood red color. "I...don't know." "Y/n, come here." Yami spoke without negotiation. I stood up and followed him into an empty corridor.
"Your Ki has changed." "Huh?" He crossed his arms, leaned against the wall and stared me down. "What happened, Vanessa found you, unconscious, in front of the door." I looked at him then looked down, trying to remember anything at all. "I-I don't know. I was...." He stepped forward, leaning down to be eye level with me. "You were what?" His tone had shifted slightly, it wasn't angry and confused so much as concerned. "I was practicing a spell, w-when I lost control, all I remember is passing out in the woods..." He stood back up. "So someone brought you here afterwards, they found you. And you don't remember anything, like getting that mark?" He hand went up to where it was, touching it gently. "No." "Hmm, well your Ki is different now, it's not the same as it was. It used to be serene and peaceful, now it's still that way, but it's mixed with anger and violence. Something I'm not sure you're capable of feeling." I looked down, considering his words. I don't feel angry or upset...but there is this pit in my heart, like a hole, and I don't like it. "One more thing." I looked up at him as he lit his cigarette staring through the doorway into the main room where everyone was still gathered. "Are you okay?"
Yami had me go to my room to rest while he explained everything to the others. I was kind of shaken and honestly, the mark on my collar was bothering me. It's not like it hurt, but it was warm, and just, there.
"Y.....N" I opened the door to what I thought was my room but instead found Henry's. "Henry?" I walked in, confused about what he needed. "A....re yo...u o...kay?" I smiled at him and nodded, sitting down on his bed. "Yeah, I'm fine. I guess you heard about what happened." He stared at me, or at least I think he did. It's hard to tell where he's looking with his hair like that. "No... s....aw it.." I froze and looked at him. "You...saw it?"
We spent the next hour or so as he explained how he, or the hideout, saw what happened. He saw my magic, and then told me he saw someone carry me back. He said it was a man, dressed sort of like a jester, wearing a black hat that hung down with bells on the ends, and a full red facemask, like a theater mask, but it was half smiling and half frowning. He couldn't see anything else, and said that he didn't do anything but drop me off, yet something told me Henry was hiding something. I didn't want to pry though, if he was hiding it, it was probably for the best.
After that I actually went to my room and laid down, flipping through my red grimoire, going back to that one spell, only it had changed, a second spell had appeared beneath it. "Heaven's Wrath: Divine Rite.... I don't like the sound of that...maybe Fuegoleon could help me out with these. That can wait, I'm exhausted. Might as well get some rest while I can....Why does this mark burn so much...
Where am I? "Castiel, my child." Who is that? A man...no, something else? Why is he on the ground...he's hurt! I tried to run to him but I couldn't move, my feet were sinking into the ground. There he was, a man with tan skin, golden hair, and wings. He was bruised and battered, kneeling before a blinding light, the light that was speaking. "You have wronged your people, your kingdom, your family. What do you have to say for yourself?" He looked up at the light, his eyes an equal golden color to his hair. "You...you know I fight for righteousness, for the good people, and the innocents who know no violence." His voice was pained, yet full of conviction. "I do." He coughed blood, shakily getting to his feet. "Then why would I stand against them? You know nothing of who they are...you are blind...ignorant." Even now, there was no hate in his words, just conviction and hope...hope that the light would understand. "Insolent child! You think that I know nothing!? Then why don't we see how 'righteous' you are when you know nothing!" The ground opened up beneath him, his body being taken down, disappearing. I couldn't say anything, I still couldn't move, my feet stuck, but I knew one thing, I was scared, and something about this scene...it made me angry...I've never been angry... "You.." I looked at the light which moved to shine down on me. "What are you doing here!?"
"Ahh!" I shot up, falling off my bed, I hit the floor and immediately reached to grab where the mark was, my skin burning like hellfire, A choked out scream leaving my throat. The pain...it was so much. I can't hear anything. My eyes are too blurry to see...and the smell, the smell of burning fleas was too much to handle. I wanted to puke, but I could barely manage to breathe. What is going on? What...did I do to deserve this...
-Luck's POV-
"I wonder if Magna would fight with me?"I said, walking through the castle to find him. I started to think of fun new moves to use on him when I scream cut me out of my thoughts. 'Huh?' I followed the sound and ended up at a room, which one? I have no clue! A door's a door. I opened it and found Y/n in there, on the floor. "What are you doing?" I walked over and kneeled next to him. "Hey, why aren't you talking?" I poked him but recoiled when his whole body shook, not just that, but he was hot, like boiling hot. Now that I look at it, he's really red and crying. "Hmm?" I quickly grabbed his arm, pulling it away from where it was gripping. Where that strange mark had appeared earlier, it now had red marks, like roots or veins spreading out. 'Uh, what do I do? Get Finral? Yami? Yeah, get Yami.' I get up to go, but stop when his hand grabs my ankle. 'Ow...that hurts.' I think he's melting me. I leaned down trying to move my foot away, but stopped when I looked at the mark, the veins had receded a bit. "So, if you touch me, it goes away? Okay, come here." I grabbed him and wrapped my arms around him. "You know, this really hurts" I looked down at him, who's still shaking, the veins slowly receding as my skin melts. "...But it's worse for you...isn't it? It's okay, I'm here." I held him for a bit longer before the veins completely disappeared and the burning stopped, for both of us. My flesh is severely damaged, oh well. I hoisted him onto my back, since he passed out, and started to carry him to the others.
I got to the common room. "Guys." "Eugh, what's that smell?" Gauche said repulsively. "That's me." Everyone turned to look at me, getting a bunch of funny reactions. "Oh my god, luck!" "Hnnnnnn." Grey walked over and started to use magic on me to fix my wounds. "Uh Yami, I think something's up with him" I gesture to Y/n on my back. Finral walked over and took him from me while Grey finished healing me. I don't know what they did next, but Yami and Finral took him away somewhere. "Hey Magna, wanna fight?" "ARE YOU SERIOUS!?"
