We'd taken Matt's car back to his flat, where the get together would happen.
By the time we reached his flat I was asking a ton of questions, "What if no one likes me? What if I embarrass myself? What if-"
Matt cut me off by placing a finger over my mouth, "You're going to be fine. And the only people there, are people from the crew and some people who play extras. It's fine."
I sighed and nodded a little, then pulled his finger away from my mouth. He smiled and got out of the car. By the time I was out and had the car door shut, Matt was already halfway up the walk.
I groaned a little and ran to catch up to him, "Matt! Wait for me! I don't walk as fast as you do obviously."
Matt laughed, then stopped and waited for me to catch up. I finally got to his side and we walked up to the door together. I stood with my arms crossed as he unlocked the door and held it open for me. I walked in and looked around. The place was amazing. And I do mean amazing.
Matt had moved into his kitchen and was pulling stuff out of the fridge by the time I'd walked through the entire flat.
"Why do you have a flat, when you could have a huge house? I mean, you make enough to probably buy two or three houses, an instead you have a flat. Why?"
"I like it. It makes me think of home. We lived in a flat. A big one, but a flat none the less. So I guess that's why. I don't know," Matt said shrugging.
I nodded and stood leaning against the wall.
"People should start getting here soon. Actually in a few minutes. I told them all to be here around eight. And it's almost eight. Go make yourself comfortable in the other room or something. I'm still working on this stuff," Matt said pointing at the assorted snacks and beverages he had set on the table.
I laughed and shook my head, "You look like you need help. Here I'll get this." I started grabbing things and making it look presentable. I stopped when I saw the bottle of Lotte Liquor.
"Uh Matt. Where do you want this at," I asked gesturing to the bottle that still sat on the table.
"Oh! Uh I'll get that. Sorry," Matt said grabbing the bottle and setting it elsewhere.
It wasn't that I couldn't drink - I could, the legal drinking age is 18 - it was that I'd never actually drank. I was only one year over the legal age, so I hadn't really given it any thought.
I looked at everything and decided that it looked alright, "Well, I think we did good. Everything seems to be in place. Now what?"
"Now-" Matt stopped when as the doorbell rang, "I'll get that."
An hour later, everyone had arrived and we were milling around in the various rooms of Matt's flat.
I had talked with almost everyone there. But at the moment I was just standing in the kitchen - alone - staring down at the cup in my hand. I felt someone come up behind me and slowly turned around. Standing behind me was Matt, "Hello dear."
"Hey. Having fun," I asked, smiling.
Matt nodded and took a sip from his glass. Then he looked down at the glass in my hand and frowned, "What's that?"
"Um it's...nothing. Actually, it's a glass of Lotte. But I couldn't actually bring myself to drink it. I was just going to dump it but-" Suddenly my rambling was cut off as I felt Matt's lips press against mine.
My eyes widened and my glass fell out of my hand.
