Realization

Gem's pov
"Wait what?" My voice cracks. "Um- look it's ok, it's not much." Lee stuttered back. "How could you? Why would you?" I ask bewildered. "I was young...I'm sorry." Lee begged. "Did you think u wouldn't find out? What else have you done?" I yell angrily back at him. "Please...forgive me. Help me out." He whimpers. "No. Never. Your not who you say you are." I scream and hang up the phone. I burst out in tears. How could he? 2 years ago he committed some terrible crimes, that included cheating on me and breaking into people's houses. Now he's getting arrested...I'm not bailing that monster out. I just couldn't believe that Lee, a person I've loved and trusted, could do something so terrible like that to me. I've spent 3 years with him. Making him part of my family. Sqaishey and him are Besties, and Peeta is like his little brother. We had a great times together! But, he really thought he could do those things and get away with it. He can't, and never could.  It hurts to know that he's going to jail, that a person I thought so highly has sunk down so lowly. It's terrible how people can change into meanies over night. It was going to be hard on Sqaishey, tho. She loved Lee, as a brother. I took a deep breath, and called "SQAISHEY! PEETA!". They both came running down the stairs. "What's up?" Sqaishey asks with a bounce in her step. "Yah? What did you do now?" Peeta asks with a smirk. "Lee....and me broke up." I managed out. "But Lee is so nice! I absolutely love him! He's the best fake big brother ever!" Sqaishey states. "Lee is going to jail....he did some things. Unforgivable things." I whisper. "What? No way. Not Lee!" Sqaishey declares shaking her head over and over. "Wait? Really?" Peeta asks shocked. "Yes. Really. He's a criminal." I snarl, anger pumping through my veins. "Oh gem!" Sqaishey cries and wraps her arms around me crying hysterically. Peeta looks like he's been slapped across the face and comes in for a hug. "It's ok. It's ok." I mutter to them. But honestly, it's not ok. I'm not ok.

Sqaishey's pov
How could Lee do this?! Lee was always so lovable, and always played with me when I was younger. He would always talk to me and bring me gifts. I can't believe that he's now a criminal. I just don't know if I accept that. There is one way to find out. Going to see Lee. Gem would kill me if she knew where I was going. But I need to know the truth. I put on black leggings and a black knit tank top. I slide in my combat boots and jump out the window. I just kept running. Toward lee's house. Didn't look back. I finally arrived at his doorstep. I took a deep breath and knocked on his door. He answered it with a thoughtful look on his face. "Oh Sqaishey! What are you doing here? Please, come in!" He declares. I walk into his house, a little shaky. I couldn't believe that I was here, even after knowing what he did. "What brings you here?" He asks smiling. "Gem said your a criminal...but I don't think so." Sqaishey whispers. Lee chuckles. "Stay for dinner?" He asks. I nod and he takes me into his kitchen. We sit down, and eat silently. Lee smirks at me as he drinks some weird beverage. I've never seen it before, and I don't want to try it. He drinks a whole bottle of it, and looks up at me with a dreary look on his face. "Hey baby doll!" He slurs uncontrollably. "Umm...Lee what are you doing?" I ask suddenly terrified. "Looking good angel. Mind if I have a bit?" He asks grinning from ear to ear. He reaches for me and grabs the collar of my shirt, and pulls me in and starts kissing me. "Stop Lee!" I cry thing to pull away. "Let go!!" I shriek. He starts dragging me to his bedroom, and at this point I'm flailing my arms screaming. All of a Sudden, Gem breaks the door. She comes charging in and punches Lee in the face. He falls over, and immediately lets go of me. "Get out of here, go to the car with Peeta. I'm calling the police." She yells. I rush out of the house, and watch as gem speed calls the police. Soon his house is surrounded by police cars. They bring a drunken Lee out of his house, and toss him in the back seat. "Are you ok miss?" They asked me. "Yah. I think so." I reply. Gem has a look of worry on her face. She runs toward me and wraps me in a hug. She's crying now. "Don't you ever, ever go doing to crazy things like that again!
You knew he was a criminal! You could of cotton raped...or even murdered! I mean, I couldn't lose you! Mom and dad depend on me, and I depend on you guys. I need you guys. I love you so much. Please don't ever do that again!" She yells as she hugs me. "I won't. I promise." I reply with a small smile. "Thanks." She replies, mimicking my small smile. We drive home, and off j go to bed. I text Melanie, and she says that she will pick me up tomorrow. I lay down in my bed, looking up at the ceiling. I think I've found my realization. Lee isn't who he said he was.
