When I finished Heaven For A While, I comforted myself by knowing that at least this story wasn't over.
But, alas, here we are.
Honestly, I don't really know how to say goodbye to this story.
After three years, Heaven Knows has become such a big part of my life. These characters lived in my head for so long, through so many drafts, late nights, and moments where I didn't even know where the story was going anymore.
Letting them go feels... strange. And honestly, a little heartbreaking.
Ruby means more to me than I can properly put into words.
She's my own creation, and I'm so proud of the journey I gave her, and of the ending she reached.
It was important to me that everyone found their happiness.
After everything they've been through, they deserved peace. They deserved love. They deserved a future.
I don't think you ever really say goodbye to characters like these. You just leave them somewhere safe and hope they keep living on in the minds of the people who loved them too.
Thank you for being here, for caring about this story, and for loving these characters as deeply as I do.
Heaven knows I'll miss them.
Over and out ✨
