#82 I Know (Part Two)

The following day everyone was coming into the great hall for lunch, lots of people having the school paper with them which was being handed out near the doors. Regulus never really paid any attention to the paper because he didn't care for the school rumours when he could make up his own, but today he decided to grab one. Especially after his suspicions on Pandora.

Dorcas and Regulus sat together at the table, reading over what the papers said about upcoming events at the school and then moving over to the quidditch two page spread where there was a photo of Regulus on one side and a photo of James on the other.

Regulus liked the moving pictures, he always thought they were cool when he saw them in the Daily Prophet and now that Pandora had her own camera, the school paper was full of them. He looked to his side of the paper which had a photo of him lent back against the Slytherin banner, his face neutral but his demeanour confident as the picture moved with the wind beneath his cape.

James' photo was the opposite, his was of him next to the Gryffindor banner but when his picture was taken he was mid laugh, the photo perfectly captured his bright smile and warmth as you could see the light reflect of his gold captains uniform. He was the complete opposite to Regulus, but in the best way. It annoyed him how good they looked next to each other.

"Are you smiling?" Dorcas poked Regulus' arm with her fork and he nudged her away shaking his head, "and blushing? Regulus are you blushing?"

"Blush? No. I am a Black, we don't blush, never have I blushed"

"Dude you are bright red" Evan came up from behind him, roughing Regulus' hair up, "shut up" Regulus hexed both Evan and Barty back as he heard McGonagall call out to him,

"Mr Black what have I said about stunning your friends? It's not acceptable!" Regulus nodded in return and watched as his professor waited for Barty and Evan to stand so she could see they weren't truly hurt. "We're fine professor, he loves us too much to strike us with something actually forceful."

"I wouldn't test that theory Mr Crouch" McGongall smiled and the Slytherins laughed, even Regulus couldn't help but smile. Their professor left and Regulus quickly handed the paper over to Dorcas so he wasn't looking at James anymore, focusing on his lunch instead.

At the Gryffindor table, James was continuing to have a crisis with basically all of his friends knowing now since Pete couldn't keep his mouth shut after finding out, "Pete you're going to be my downfall I swear to Merlin" James said bluntly.

All of his friends had been surprisingly supportive, especially Lily who had apparently known the whole time and just assumed James had been using her as a cover up until he sorted out his actual feelings. James made sure to accentuate to Lily that she wasn't being used, that he'd very much had an embarrassingly long crush on her, it was just now he seemed to have gotten over it.

"Ok that's enough from all of you. Evans just tell me what you wrote please, I don't want to read it myself. Wait is it embarrassing? Never mind don't tell me, rip it off like a bandaid!" James covered his face and Lily cleared her throat as she began to read the exert:

"Slytherin's star player, and seeker, Regulus Black has given insight into his behind the scenes relationship with most rivalled player, James Potter. Mr Black stated that he admires the captain's performance and respects Mr Potter, commenting as well on his leadership which is clearly demonstrated on the field. When asked more about Gryffindor's captain, Mr Black declined to comment about their role in one and another's lives but wavered that there were potentially conflicting views on their relationship given Mr Potter's connections to his older brother, and Gryffindor's beater, Sirius Black."
