"You ready? We have a half an hour to be there"

Jaces voice was faded through the floors.

I rush to grab my stuff around, making my way downstairs minutes later.

He stands from the couch, his eyes glued to me as I make my way into the kitchen.

I grab my phone off the granite table top and watch my mom throw stuff in a Crock Pot for tonight's dinner.

"Bye mom"

"Good luck"

I turn and nod at Jace, signaling him that I was ready.

He opens the door and waits for me to pass by him. Shutting it behind him, he follows me to the car.

A silhouette in the drivers seat, windows tinted from the California sun caused seeing through tough.

"I hope you don't mind, Dan wants Maeve at the studio for some drama in the next season."

I stared at him as I open the back door, getting into an over perfumed car.

I caught her glare through the side mirror. She speaks

"You move on quick Jace, huh?"

"Oh, we're not together" I shake my head.

"Just friends" He looks at her "Not that it's any of your concern"

We arrive in silence. The lack of words from Maeves lips was surprising.

It had been about a week since they've broken up, and she was still upset over it.

She gets out of the car, closing the door behind her and walking into the building ahead.

"Shes pissed" He looks back at me.

I shrug "Guess so"

We're just about to Studio 11s doors when my backs pushed up towards the brick wall. I'm trapped between Jaces arms.

"What are you doing?"

"You're gonna do great" He smiles

"Thank you?"

I watch his eyes glance at my lips for a split second. Contemplating whether he wanted to do what his thoughts were going through or not.

I beat him to it, pressing my lips aginst his quickly, pulling away.

His eyes widen in surpise and he looks at me, before an apology escapes my lips, his are on mine again.

My hands travel around his body before I push him away gentally a few seconds later.

"I should probably go in, don't want to miss it."

"Yeah," He drops his hands to his sides "Good luck"

I smile lightly and walk around him. He pulls the door open for me and follows in behind.

He slightly touches my side as he walks into the audition room, leaving me in the lounge with another girl.

I sat down, studying my competition. Her black hair reflected from the ceiling lights. A tall lengthy body crossed one leg over the other, her foot swaying.

She looked up from her phone and grinned at me, making eye contact.

I awkwardly look away as if It hadn't happened, but her thin body struts over to the seat next to me.

"So you're like, the other girl aren't you?"

"Yeah. I'm Emily."

"I didnt ask for your name"

I raise my eyebrows at the sudden change in her tone.

"Look, im going to be brutally honestly with you because I see no point in being fake. You need to leave before your hopes go down the drain."

"Just like you didn't ask for my name, I didnt ask for your opinion. Get out of my face."

"Dont be butt hurt for me stating the truth. Let's face it, they look at who will look better with Jace on camera, and well, let's be honest, between you and I it's obvious who he's going to pick"

I smile at her and wait for her to leave. If only she knew.

"Emily Rose?" The same lady in a corduroy jacket pops her head out of the door.

I stand up and make my way over, side watching the other girl in the waiting room.

I walk into the same audition room as last time. Nothing had changed besides the fact of thinking I'd ever get this far.

"How are you doing Emily?"

I make eye contact with Dan "Im good"

"Good. Okay so you're going to go up there with Jace, have fun, remember the character."

I nod and watch Jace as he approaches the front of the room.

For the audition, it went just like it had before the last twenty times we've practiced it. The kiss feeling a little more natural than before.

The scene was over, my glance shooting around the silent room.

"Emily," He sighs. I swallow. "You were good before... you were perfect this time"

I smile "Thank you"

His pen glides across the paper in front of him in the silence of the room.

"Why don't you have a seat outside, we'll call you back once we finish up callbacks"

|~*~|

As I sit on my phone, I watch the wooden door fly open. Anticipation as been running through me since I've sat down. Either she comes out smiling or crying.

And she was crying.

I watch as she storms out, avoiding eyecontact as tears run off her plumped lips, and a smile spreads across mine.

"Emily could you come back in please."

Already knowing what was going on, my nerves slow down as I walk in.

I'm greeted by Sean's smile "You start Sunday"

"Thank you" I smile calmly. Holding back every tiny emotion in me.

"I have to admit, your American accent is pretty good"

I laugh slightly at Dan and nod "Ive been working on it."

|~*~|

I walk out of the building with Jace, the same smile not able to dissapear from my lips.

"So Emily Rose, how does it feel to be my girlfriend?"

I shake my head "Nothing as good as you'd expect it to-"

His lips meet mine again as we stand still in the middle of the parking lot.

Taken back, I process what's happening and bring myself closer to him.

"My parents aren't home," He speaks "Come over"
