Please don't Go

It's hard to let go
Even though it's beautiful as gold
The things we had in the past
They make my heart vast

But somewhere inside
Lingers a sadness that cannot hide
Somewhere deep below
The feelings of sorrow

Hard as I try
They keep bursting like
Nuclear bombs sent down from afar
And shatter the future I had lovingly held in my heart

Somehow I had never seen the cliff
If I had I would have avoided it
Alas... as if written in the stars
Our love went and fell deep... deep afar

In the darkness, out of reach
I run towards the steep
Wondering if I can find it once more
It's but a flicker, an ember that I hope will not surrender

I say, "I love you"
You say it too
But the feelings seem to be far away
You're here, but without the spark it's not the same

I shed a tear; again and again
All I fear is that our hearts will never mend
I pick up the pieces of my mistakes
Try to mend the broken glass and yet...

Please hear me call out to you
My love is still very true
Pay close attention to my eyes
Not even my gentle touch can give back the shine
