-It was finally time; the filler arc was coming to an end. We see the group looking at the castle from a distance, each one with a weapon of choice. This was it. They're going with a battering ram approach to the castle. Mina looked at Pony as she counted down from zero, and when she hit, they all heard the explosion happening at the opposite side of the castle, courtesy of the C-4, causing the bulk of the forces to go to the explosion to investigate. They all looked at each other and nodded, since it was showtime. The children all ran to the entrance, but of course they had company. -
Valkyrie: Well. Well. Well.
-they all heard Valkyrie say, her tone dripping with malice. The girls were safe, they were not the one who summoned the anger of the ancient warrior. No. That luxury was of the only boy of the party. Izuku Midoriya, since the boy is definitely an acquired taste, and Valkyrie hasn't acquired do it yet. Izuku felt his heart pumping, he felt his knees shaken, in moments like this, is when you see what a person truly is. And Midoriya?-
Izuku: Go forth, Christian soul, from this world in the name of God the almighty Father, who created you, in the name of Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, who suffered for you, in the name of the Holy Spirit, who was poured out upon you, go forth, faithful Christian, May you live in peace this day, and may your home be with God in Zion, with Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, with Joseph, and with all the angels and saints.
-Yeah. Izuku's true self was somebody who may claim that he doesn't believe in a higher power, but when the chips are down and he is in genuine fear? The truth comes out, and he asks for mercy from his god for his arrogance and inferiority complex. Izuku flinched when Valkyrie extended her blade and pointed at Izuku, causing the boy to mutter faster every prayer he could remember. Though Izuku was finding it quite difficult when she can see it in the eyes of this woman. She had the same gaze that Rumi had when he first met the bunny woman. The boy was having flashbacks to the ass beating he received from them and knew this one would be worse. -
Izuku: Allahuma aghfir li warhamni. Ahmini waef eani. 'akramuni astiqbalan wawasae madkhali. Aghsalani bialma' walthalj walbirda, wanaqni min alkhataya kama yanqaa althawb al'abyad min aldinsu. *Izuku muttered, swapping from the Catholic god to the Islamic god. Instantly betraying one god for another. Izuku did not care which god he had to pray to, so long as one of them grants him the mercy and grace to understand that his worst actions were caused by fear. Fear that he wasn't good enough, fear that he would fail, that he wasn't a shining star in the sky but just a particle of dust on the telescope. And it's that exact fear that was making him fall metaphorically on his knees and ask for mercy.
