Author note: now that i finally got reimbursed and finally got back my console from the pawn shop, let's reward my lovely readers with an extra chapter
*The day unfortunately for Izuku continued, as Melissa wasn't satisfied with seeing only the mark-3 and the under construction mark-4. No. Unfortunately for Izuku he had to socialize with this girl more as we see them in the junkyard workshop, Melissa talking while she inspects the copies or mark-1 and the mark-2. Izuku was nodding along, with a half genuine smile, since the owner of the Junkyard a man by the name Jim, as always made Izuku pay 20 bucks to enter the junkyard, funny how Izuku forgot his wallet and made Toshinori have to pay the entrance fee. Melissa looked at Izuku and asked about the one thing she really wanted to see, just as much as the suits of armor.*
Melissa: What about the battery pack? The arc reactor?
Izuku: safely secured. And no I'm not going to show it do you. You're a shield, I'm not risking you trying to steal it.
*Izuku said in a dry tone as he wasn't stupid enough to show his most important invention to somebody who has the money and resources to take it, copy it and as much as it fuels Izuku with a deep anger since he may deny it but deep down he knew the truth. Somebody like Melissa? She could make the battery faster and better than him like Mei did behind his back. Melissa looked offended and gave an audible gasp.*
Melissa: i would never!
Izuku: no offense but the hatsume corporation has already tried, so have the police force and even the Yakuza. So forgive me if I'm not exactly trusting.
* Izuku said with a shrug, ignoring the looks both Toshinori and Melissa were giving him, not like he cares since it's not like it was a lie. His arc reactor was the most valuable item he had, an item so powerful, with so much potential, and more importantly a threat. A threat for thr powers that be, since if there is a road where Izuku uses the battery to show the world that they didn't need old energy like resources like coal, gas, oil, etc. If that happens they'll lose their powers, so they wanted that arc reactor destroyed. Melissa huffed annoyed, puffing up his cheeks but she accepted the information. And started to mutter loudly a chunk of questions for izuku to answer.*
Melissa: fine, fine, so!
Izuku: "I feel like I'm seeing a version of me that died so long ago."
*Izuku thought as she watched the girl talk, and talk, with such a happy and almost naive type of smile. It reminded Izuku of the part of himselg that was like this but for heroes. But that was a long time ago, and now? Izuku could care less about other heroes except for their weaknesses. Izuku just nodded along, answering every 5th question, since Melissa spoke faster than he could answer. That is until he heared something that peaked his interest.*
Izuku: hold on. Walk that back. What do you mean you're going to be in the hero course?
Melissa: yeah! I asked Nezu if i could and he laughed and said yes!
*Melissa said with a bright smile excited that she'll be in the hero course next to the boy who did the impossible. This was something rare, something very rare. In this moment both Izuku and Toshinori were in agreement of something. They both thought this was bullshit. Toshinori may have not exactly liked Midoriya's attitude but he still earned his spot in the hero course, but Melissa just asking and Nezu saying yes, just like that? That was just bullshit. Izuku took a sharp breath and then exhaled surprised for a moment, but he kept his smile and nodded.*
Izuku:.... he would do that. Touche rat god. You better guard that cheese of yours with one eye open. So if you're going to be in the hero course, how are you going to do that without powers?
