~this isn't a serious one shot btw~

edit: just realised this didnt have a link to the song in reference, so i just added it in.

Chloe and Max arrive at a small booth where the general public can do horrific covers of great songs. It is orange with a star sign on the door. A big, spiky bubble of text on the side reads "You sing the songs!"

"This is it, buddy." Chloe rubs her hands together as he turns to Max, who is carrying an acoustic guitar.

"What..." Max turns to the booth, pulling a face. "This is the awesome recording studio where we're gonna record our album?"

"It's a studio." Chloe points to the star on the door, which says 'studio' underneath in red text. "It says it on the door. It's an official studio." Chloe thumps the door with her fist.

"This is one of those lame karaoke things!" Max shakes her head.

"Okay, you wanna bail?" Chloe points at Max. "Go ahead. You wanna walk away from your dreams or do you wanna come in here, with me, like the Tenacious Bay that I know, and change rock history!"

Max nods, knowing she'll never change her friend's mind, "Okay."

Chloe hugs Max tightly before quickly entering the booth. "See, man, they got headphones and everything!"

"Oh, wow, cool." Max murmurs as the two put headphones on.

Chloe bends down to filter coins into the slot. She nudges Max accidentally and apologises.

"No, look, dude." Max points to the small screen in front of them. "You gotta record other people's songs!"

"Well, that's where a little studio engineering comes in handy, my hard rocking amigo!" Chloe holds up a tool, a grin stretching across her face.

"What..." Max steps back as Chloe throws open a little hatch and pulls wires out.

"Agh!" Max yelps as the sound of electricity crackling fills the booth.

A light comes on above them and a disco ball begins to spin. Chloe quickly stands up and mouthes to Max. Max begins to gently strum on the guitar. Chloe points angrily and the two switch places before raising her mouth to the microphone hanging from the ceiling and beginning the song.

"This is the greatest and best song in the world." Chloe says before she takes a breath. "Tribute."

"Long time ago me and my sista Max here," The punk girl points to the smaller, freckled girl. "We was hitchhikin' down a long and lonesome road. All of a sudden, there shined a shiny demon..." Chloe pauses, "in the middle..." Another pause, "of the road. And he said:"

Chloe begins to sing in a demonic voice. "Play the best song in the world or I'll eat your soul."

Max carries on playing the guitar as Chloe draws in a breath. She begins speaking in her normal voice again. "Well, me and Max, we looked and each other. And we said..."

The pair nod at each other and speak in unison. "Okay."

Chloe's eyes widen as she sings the next bit. "And we played the first thing that came to our heads and it just so happened to be, the best song in the world, it was the best song in the world."

Chloe points to her eyes as she sings louder and more enthusiastically. She erratically gestures, showing the addition of the numbers. "Look into my eyes and it's easy to see one and one make two, two and one make three, it was destiny. Once every hundred-thousand years or so, when the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow and the grass doth grow..."

She calms down and holds a prolonged shrug. "Needless to say, the beast was stunned." Chloe does a sudden karate chop. "Whip-crack went his whoopy tail, and the beast was done. He asked us:" Chloe snorts "'Be you angels?' And we said 'Nay, we are but men.'"

Chloe rips open her jacket, exposing her low cut tank top, as the pair yell. "Rock!"

Her and Max begin to sing loudly. "Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh-ah-ah! Ohhh, whoah, ah-whoah-oh!"

Chloe sings by herself again. "This is not the greatest song in the world, no. This is just a tribute. Couldn't remember the greatest song in the world, no, no. This is a tribute, oh, to the greatest song in the world. All right! It was the greatest song in the world, all right! It was the best muthafuckin' song the greatest song in the world."

The two girls start speaking random gibberish in unison before a guitar solo breaks out.

Chloe bursts out of the booth, headphones still attached and grasping a microphone, as she sings to an old lady walking by. She holds the lady by the pink cardigan she's wearing and speaks. "And the peculiar thing is this my friends: the song we sang on that fateful night it didn't actually sound anything like this song!"

The old woman steps back, frightened before she begins hitting Chloe with her handbag. Despite this, Chloe carries on singing. " This is just a tribute! You gotta believe it! And I wish you were there!"

The old woman walks away so Chloe grabs the shoulder of a tall man, still singing. The man walks away and Chloe gets on her knees, doing some form of lunges. Max stands behind Chloe, nodding her head as she plays the guitar.

Chloe belts out the song. "Just a matter of opinion. Ah, fuck! Good God, God lovin'. So surprised to find you can't stop it."

Max begins an epic guitar solo whole Chloe sings encouragements. "All right! All right!"

The security guard, David, grabs Max's shoulder and pushes her away from the booth, with Max finishing off her solo. The old lady from before walks behind David. Chloe tries to walk away but the security guard grabs the back of her top and escorts the duo out of the building.

As they leave, the old lady stays behind at the booth. The album Chloe and Max just recorded falls out of a slot on the side. The old lady picks it up, smiling evilly. She holds it up with one shaky hand as her eyes begin to glow unnaturally red, letting out a long evil laugh.
