I'm pretty sure someone suggested this, but I'm not sure who... Or did they? If not I guess it's here anyway.

Snap!

You look up, confused by the sudden flash of light, and see a young girl standing in front of you. A photograph is sliding from the front of her Polaroid camera. She shakes the image, and places it in her bag.

You pull out your earphones. "Did... you just take a picture of me?"

She blushes and puts her camera in her bag. "I... yes. Sorry."

"Why?" You ask. It's not everyday someone randomly photographs you.

"You looked deep in thought, staring at your phone and listening to music or whatever. I thought it would make an intriguing photograph." The girl sits beside you. "It will develop soon. I can show you, if you'd like?"

You turn to face her, noticing the freckles lying delicately on her nose. "Yeah. That'd be... uh... cool."

"I'm Max, by the way." She smiles. "Sorry I came off as a total creep. What's your name?"

"It's (y/n)." You nod. Despite having taken a random photograph of you, she seems genuinely nice.

"Ah!" Max grins, pulling the photograph from her bag. "See, it's developing!"

You can see the outlines and some colour in photograph, admitting to yourself that it looks pretty cool. Full of atmosphere, too.

"You really have a good eye for photography, huh?" You say. "I wish my photographs were this good."

Max gasps slightly. "Do you do photography here?"

You nod, and pull out your time table from your pocket. "Yeah, it's my first day here, though. I have..." You trace your finger along the sheet to find the subject. "...Mr. Jefferson."

Max's eyes light up. "We're in the same class, then! I could ask for you to sit beside me, then I can fill you in on stuff you missed." She suddenly blushes. "I mean, if you'd want to. I'm not forcing you to-"

"I'd love to." You smile.

"Coolio!" Max sighs. "I always say the lamest things when I'm around new people, sorry."

You shake your head. "It's not lame - it's cute."

Max's face turns red as she rushes to speak. "Bell's about to go. I have World History next. Are you cool to find your lesson? I can walk you there."

You nod. "Yeah, I had a tour before I officially started. Thanks, though."

She swoops in and gives you a surprise hug before saying. "I guess I'll see you around, (y/n)."

She begins to walk away, then swiftly turns around. "I forgot to tell you - your eyes are a beautiful colour." She smiles and begins her journey again.

You go to stand up when you notice some paper beside you. It has a phone number written on, and a stick drawing of Max with a straight face. You smile to yourself, pocket the note and head to your next lesson as the bell rings wildly.
