Pricefield: Stealing Kisses

"How do I tell Warren I don't like him? I mean, not in that way." Max sighed.

Max and Warren had been best friends for so, so long. Warren's feelings for her were obvious, but Max just didn't feel the same way. She knows that Brooke really likes Warren so she feels bad when Warren asks her out anywhere.

Chloe looked at Max, the girl lying beside her. They were both in comfortable clothes, just chilling together. Quite often when Chloe and Max spent time together just sat in silence, enjoying each other's company. Chloe really treasured these moments.

"Hmm..." Chloe thought for a moment. "Do you wanna let him down nicely or do you wanna be hella blunt?"

Max could tell Chloe was planning something. She had that mischievous look in her eyes.

"I don't want to hurt his feelings..." Max said. Her friend didn't have quite as thick a skin as other people.

"Yeah, but you could always go both ways. You can rewind time, Max!" Chloe grinned. "I have a plan."

"I can't abuse my power Chloe." Max pointed out. "I don't know how it works."

Chloe held a finger over her mouth. "Just hear me out, okay?"

Max nodded silently while Chloe told her the plan.

"Hey, Max!" Warren called Max over to his parked car.

"Hey!" Max greeted. "What'd you want?"

Warren awkwardly scratched the back of his head. "Well, I just wanted to ask something. You still good to Go Ape with me?"

Max sighed and looked down at the floor. "Warren I... I think Brooke would rather go with you."

"What?" Warren asked, confused.

Suddenly Chloe came running at Max from across the parking lot, yelling of her. Chloe collided with Max, wrapping her in a tight bear hug. Then, without warning, Chloe firmly pressed her lip's against Max's.

Warren stood, his mouth hanging agape. "I... Uh..."

Max and Chloe were still kissing. If Chloe pulled away, she knew Max would burst out laughing and totally ruin the plan.

This isn't too bad... Chloe thought, smiling against Max's lips.

Warren stood awkwardly, and Chloe and Max proceeded to eat each other's faced practically.

Come on, man! Max thought. I don't want to make out for this long. I need air!

"I'll uh... see ya later... Max." Warren stepped backwards slowly before he turned on his heels and scampered in the general direction of the science department.

Chloe burst out laughing as Max was left panting.

"That was hilarious!" Chloe wiped a tear from her eye.

Max wiped her mouth. "Although a tad cruel."

Chloe smirked at Max. "You know, you're one hell of a kisser."

"Shut up!" Max laughed, gently punching Chloe's arm.

They both got in Chloe's old car and realisation dawned on them that their friendship would never be quite the same again.
