It had been just under a week since the last war with the CPH. Everyone's wounds had healed reasonably quickly. That game of tag, you ask? It was so much fun to run around the mansion with them, ducking and weaving between people to try and catch up to them.
We had a meeting two days ago about the CPH. We heard over the bug that in four days they'll be having a meeting and I was once again to go undercover, but I'll go into details about that a bit later.
What I'm really going to go into detail about, is Rose. Well... To say the least, we've had a very very long night together. It would appear she's been unfortunate enough to pick up a bug of some sort. The poor thing's been sick all night in the bucket that's currently by her bed and burning up from a fever. Her generally rosy cheeks are much pinker than usual as well as her forehead.
Jack went down to the clinic in the middle of the night and bought Smiley up here. Apparently he found Smiley was asleep at his reception desk, drooling on some paperwork.
He happily came up to check on her though. He says she'll be sick for a day, maybe two and to just keep her rested with plenty of fluids and no dairy, you know, the general instructions for when you have a stomach bug.
So here we are, sitting in Rose's room with her. Jack's sitting against her bed near the end of it, staring out the window, even though I have the slight suspicion he's beginning to fall asleep but I'm not sure because of his mask.
Sebastian's lying beside him, his head resting in Jack's lap. He stayed up with us while Rose was sick. In breaks of her being sick, he'd sometimes curl around her where she'd gladly cuddle up to him.
I'm currently sitting beside Rose on her bed, gently holding her hand as she sleeps. She looks so tired, I wish I was sick instead of her.
It's about 7 in the morning now, so we've been up for almost 8 hours.
I yawned a little, closing my eyes for a moment. This is the longest break from her dreadful vomiting all night.
I heard Jack stand up and yawn before I felt him kiss my forehead.
"You ok babe?"
"Yeah, I'm fine... What about you?"
He shrugged a little as he sat down in front of me. "I'm doing better than Rose is so I can't complain."
I sighed, looking down at her. "I wish I could make it stop..."
He gently held my free hand and gave it a comforting squeeze.
"I know you do, I do too... But all we can do is wait and be here...""I know... You're right." I smiled a little
"Would you like me to go get breakfast?"
"You can get something for you and Rose if you want but I'm not really hungry at the moment."
"Are you sure?" He asked
"Yeah." I smiled. "Don't worry Jack, I'll eat in a little while."
"Alright." he smiled and moved his mask, planting a kiss on my cheek before he left
Sebastian jumped on Rose's bed, being careful not to wake her up from her slumber before he then carefully crept to the other side of her and laid his tail over her. I smiled and reached over, petting head early and letting him nuzzle against my hand. He's a good boy, he's my good boy and I doubt anything will change that.
I felt Rose's soft grip on my hand tighten slightly as she began to stir into a state of consciousness again. She yawned and held onto Sebastian's tail with her other free hand.
"Mummy..."
"Yes sweetie?" I said, gently tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear
"My tummy hurts..."
"I know... Daddy's getting some breakfast if you want some, ok?"
"Ok mummy..." she said before yawning. "I'm tired..."
"I know you are... We can have a nice relaxing day today, ok?"
She nodded and went quiet again. I could hear Jeff and Jane running past Rose's room, shouting all sorts of profanities at one another. I sighed, rolling my eyes, would those two ever stop hating one another? I doubt it to be honest.
Rose adjusted how she was lying slightly as she tried to get back to sleep, pulling Sebastian's tail over her more. I looked at her thoughtfully. I wish there was something I could do... Think Kira... What did your mum used to do when you were sick? She used to read me stories or sing to me, that's what... I thought for another moment before an idea came into my mind
"Why don't I tell you a little poem I know Rose?"
She thought about it for a moment before shrugging, I could tell she didn't particularly care for poems at this point in time but who knows, it might help get her mind off of feeling so miserable.
"Yeah, I guess..." she replied
"This is called Dear Brother, Dear Sister: Birthday Party." I smiled a little, quickly reciting the poem in my head for a moment to make sure I knew all of the words so I hopefully wouldn't make a mistake.
"Tick tock, time goes by.
Tick tock, close your eyes.
Now sister dear, you've made a mess.
What's that you say? It's on my dress?
Your dress was white and now it's red.
It's not my fault they bled and bled.
Well sister dear, that's half the fun!
And now our night has just begun.
We'll tie their hands.
And sew their lips.
We'll poke and slice their fingertips.
Take out their eyes.
And hear them scream!
Against their throats our knives will gleam.
I hear them crying from the hall.
No one will ever hear their call.
They have no hope and that's the fun!
Until we kill them one by one.
But sister, wait! We mustn't rush!
We wouldn't want their veins to gush.
We want to play with them much longer.
We'll keep them fed, to make them stronger.
Feed them bones, hair and nails.
We'll harvest from them all in pails.
We'll save it up and make a stew.
I guess, for now, they'll make it through.
Now sister dear, it's worth the wait!
To see the anguish on their face.
To see them gag through sewn up faces.
To bind them up with ties and laces.
To cut their limbs off, one by one.
To hear their screams is so much fun!
To hear them cry for all their friends!
To hear them beg for life to end.
To hear them mumble to themselves.
To keep their organs on the shelves.
To mock them all, in their despair.
To rip out pieces of their hair.
To dip their wounds in burning bleach.
To keep salvation out of reach.
I'll cut their eyelids off and laugh...."I looked down at Rose and saw a small smile on her face.
"That was a funny poem mummy..."
I smiled, gently brushing some hair out of her 'eyes'.
"I'm sorry I can't make the bug go away..."
She gently squeezed my hand with her small ones.
"It's ok mummy..." She smiled a little. "It's not your fault..."
I smiled and lied beside her, "I love you Rose... Never ever forget that..."
"I won't mummy..." she smiled, cuddling up to me a little more as I kissed her forehead
"Just relax..."
I watched her as she relaxed into my chest more before I gently wrapped my arms around her and held her close, closing my eyes. I hope she feels better soon... She's not herself when she's sick... Soon she'll be running around again... We all will... And everything will be back to normal...
