While Pavel went to talk with Zaclyn, Asonia stayed in her seated position, painting an assortment of colorful flowers. She never knew her mom, and didn't grow up with one that was willing to decorate a room for her. So she wanted the best for her daughter.
Asonia could picture it, dressing her up in pretty little dresses, playing hide-and-go-seek, and talking about boys. All things that never really happened. Sure, she played games with her adoptive father, and she did wear dresses for church, but they didn't really connect like a mom and daughter would. He never taught her how to wear makeup, or gave her advice for boys, or discuss fashion. Anytime she even mentioned a boy, he'd give a speech over why teenage boys are overrated.
Her bedroom back in Ireland was white, with almost no decoration besides a few stickers on the walls, and glow-in-the-dark stars. Her bed had blue sheets, a red and white striped pillow, and a green blanket.
She didn't want that for her child. Caa've hammered another hook into the ceiling, the noise pounded through out the room, and made her wince a little bit. Asonia never really told anyone, but she'd been getting really bad headaches. The day she fainted was one of the worst.
She knew it had something to do with her pregnancy, and it worried her extremely. But she didn't want anyone to freak out. It wasn't that bad of a thing, right? Everybody has something.
She moved over a little bit, and grabbed the red paint. She added little bits of color on some, them made a few roses.
"What kind of flowers are those?" Caa've asked, stepping down from his ladder.
"They're from earth. These are called Carnations, these are daisies, tulips, roses, and lavender. They were my favorites. I used to grow them in a garden." Asonia replied, pointing as she said the names. Zindaki had similar flowers, but they were different colors, and sizes, and some even looked like insects.
"They are very beautiful, empress. You are very good at painting."
"Thank you Caa've. How's the lantern hanging?"
"I am almost done empress." He said, hanging up another. "I have to say, you've thought out this room."
"Well, I want the best for my daughter."
"Have you figured out a name?"
"Not really, but there are a few I like. I want her to have a Zindakian name, but I can only think of earthen names." Asonia said, putting the paintbrush down, and leaning against the dry wall.
"Well, there are plenty of beautiful names out there. My wife, Zina, is expecting too. She has some great ones picked out. But uh, don't tell anyone, it's supposed to be a secret for now."
"Your secret is safe with me, Mr. Caa've, don't worry. Besides, my great aunt gave me a book of baby names I haven't looked through yet." She said, rubbing her eyes.
"Why don't you take a break? I can handle the rest."
"You sure?"
"Yeah."
Asonia nodded and with some difficulty stood up. She walked into the small living room area, took the book from the coffee table, and sat down on the couch. 'Okay, let's see some names.' She thought, opening it to the first page.
A small piece of paper fell out, and she picked it up. It was a note.
"Dear Asonia Geay,
Hello. You probably know who I am, but in the off chance something happens, my name is Jaiya Lynn. I'm your mom. Right now, you're just a baby, not even born yet.
I have high hopes for you when you become empress. You're probably grown up now, maybe even expecting a child. I'm glad for that.
The book you are holding right now is the book I used to find your name, so I hope this comes in handy.
I just want you to know, I love you very much.
-Your Mom."Asonia felt tears runs down her cheeks as she read. The words were curvy and very fancy, just like her own. It made her wish she'd known her mom even more.
Rubbing a hand on her stomach, she turned the page, and found lots of notes and annotations, some in her mothers handwriting, and some not.
The A's were first, of course. A few stood out to her the most.

Without even trying, she slowly fell asleep, the name book laying on her chest.

Pavel rubbed a hand through his curly hair for possibly the eightieth time that day. Running an entire planet, with his usual duties and Asonia's duties was hard.
It made him wonder how she did it for four years before they were married. He turned a corner, and ran into Caa've. He was wearing his royal blue robes as always, and looked like he was in a hurry to find someone. His green eyes landed on Pavel and they softened.
"Hello Mr. Caa've, how was decorating the room?"
"It went by very fast. The empress is a wonderful painter. By the way, Zaclyn is looking for you." Caa've said, then he walked away, nodding as he did so.
Chekov inwardly groaned. He'd just managed to escape the council, and now he had even more work.
He turned back the way he came, and looked around for the older man's crazy hair. He eventually found him in his office. The door was closed, but the light was on, signalling he was in there.
Pavel knocked on the door, and it opened. He walked in to find Dr. Brocklyn and Zaclyn staring back at him. "Caa've said you were looking for me?"
"Yes. We need to discus some serious concerns we have. It involves Asonia, and the baby." Zaclyn said.
"What about them?"
"We're worried there may be a problem." Dr. Brocklyn said, crossing her arms. Everyone in the room was quiet for a moment.
